The Present: The Gift for Changing Times

This book is absolutely fantastic! It’s a short but concise story of how keeping your mind focused on the present moment can keep you from falling into despair and distractions. I highly recommend it.

I love everything about this book. I plan on giving this book as a gift to everyone graduation this year and for their birthday. I’ll probably read it again in a couple of months because the stories just hits you and are very inspirational.

Wonderful book ! Many of us lost all of our books in the flood after hurricane Katrina . I replaced our copy & gave one to a friend who had lost hers . Very relaxing , touching , & has life lessons we may have already learned , but are enjoyable to revisit .

This book is amazing, for when I was in high school my teacher read it to me but I didn't truly understand it until years later when I had flash backs. When I bought this book years later it all clicked and I rethink my life and it lead me to a path of success.

First, I could not put this book down. I love the way Spencer Johnson weaves the story. It teaches without teaching! Since I have been doing some spiritual reading about being in the present, it seems like everything is pointing the same direction. The most recent one is Jean-Pierre de Caussade's The Sacrament of the Present Moment. He wrote it in the 18th century! Other spiritual writes emphasizing living in the present are Thomas Merton and Thomas Keating. Of course, we now have the work of Eckhart Tolle,who's best seller THE POWER OF NOW,has assisted thousands to change their way of living. Most of all I liked the superb summary on page 85: The Present - Three Ways To Use Your Present Moment To Enjoy Your Work And Life, NOW! I recommend this book to everyone. It will CHANGE YOUR LIFE!

It was recommended by my counselor. I thought it was alright - a nice, short read. Surprisingly my husband thought it was great and read it before I did. So, for all of you women trying to make life better with a partner who doesn't seem to really care, leave this book out and see if he'll pick it up. It wasn't life changing like I had hoped it would be.

I liked this book so much I bought a copy and had each of my close family members read it and sign it. Learn from the past, to live in the present to have a better future. I HIGHLY recommend this book!

Great quick read!!!! Eye opening!! Yet such a simple concept!!!
