Julian Bowen Astoria Set of 2 Dining Chairs, Oak/Brown

Good quality product, easy to assemble, comfortable & very sturdy, good value for money, highly recommend.

Not the easiest to put together but managed ok. Putting together the second one was easier though. Matches our second hand table and four chairs perfectly.

While I can say these are good sturdy chairs, I did not like the white paper stickers which were used and proved very hard to remove. Also for the cost it would have been nice if the seats were available in other colours instead of just brown. On another matter as the chairs are delivered in pairs, why couldn't they be prebuilt, with only the seats to be added, they would still weigh the same! I didn't use this service, but having to pay for the chairs to be assembled in the home I thought was a rip off. It was only because I needed sturdy chairs urgently, that I chose them

We had been looking for replacement dining chairs but didn't want cheap, flimsy things but also didn't want to spend hundreds of pounds. I was about to buy ones for around £100 each from an oak specialist website when I came across these on Amazon. They looked good in the pics and having already owned Julian Bowen stuff meant I knew the quality would be good, the price was more than good at under £150 for a pair and they were available via Prime - winner!! I bought two pairs and I have to say I am very happy (more importantly, my wife is also). They are extremely well made, the finish is really good and they fit together without needing to manually rectify any manufacturing defects yourself - the holes were where they were meant to be and the screws went in perfect. Can't praise them enough. In fact I'm going to buy another pair when they are back in stock.

These chairs are great! I've been looking for some chairs to replace my current wobbly old chairs for ages and finally took the step and ordered these ones. I was really worried as I hadn't had a chance to try them out beforehand but I hoped for the best! They arrived about a week later ready for me to build. I found the construction of them quite fidgety to get everything tightened but I got there slowly. Now was the time to sit on them .... wow these are brilliant. They have a nice padded cushion which was so comfortable to sit on. Also they felt very sturdy. The only issue that people may have is that they are very heavy. Personally, I like that as it's what adds to the sturdy feel but others may not be so keen. I would definitely buy them again 😀

Wished I hadnt ordered these chairs. I ordered 6, all of them have been fiddly and difficult to build (the Allen key is a waste of time) and at least 2 of the chairs I have had to resort to using my screws to fit together as the build quality was poor and the supplied screws didnt work! I strongly recommend not buying these chairs if you are not prepared to put significant work in getting them built

Very good quality at a decent price. Real wood, easy to assemble, look great.

Not very happy with my chair because one of them is broken at the top. Chairs are very easy to assemble. They are comfortable.
