I cannot get the 180 degree version to connect. I’m using the app but I set about 25% through the installation and it says that there is an error.

I haven't had this problem, but usually a factory reset will sort things out if an installation has failed part way through. Also, make sure that you have a good WiFi signal during the setup process. It can cope with a weak or interrupted signal once set up, but it mustn't be interrupted during set-up.

Can i record live in my mobile when the camera is on ? As im a taxi driver and i need proof in case the they take the camera away from me

You can record onto your phone using the mydlink app; however, the device must be connected to the Internet and powered.

no it is not , I have had it placed up against a window, and the fisheye lens gives a good picture.

does it tilt and turn remotely

No. It has a great span of vision though.
