You've Tried the Rest, Now Try the BEST
I've used multiple squirrel traps over the past two years with varying degrees of success. This one is simply the best, by far. I've deployed it for 2 weeks and caught SIX squirrels. I even (somehow) caught two at the same time! I would not hesitate to buy this again. One note: the cage has a black metal tray behind the platform that trips the door shut. Some of the user pictures show this. For some reason, the item listing does not. This one piece is a huge gamechanger. Before, squirrels would just dig around the wire mesh and have the seeds drop out. With this tray, they have to go in to the cage to get the food. Seems like a small detail, but it has been key to the success I've had. HURRY UP AND BUY!

Good sized trap for squirrels
I'm overrun with squirrels in my bird feeders. This trap is well made of durable metal. Set up was fairly easy but I will admit I watched the video on how to use it first. I'm a senior citizen and not mechanically inclined. Within an hour of setting it outside I caught the first squirrel. The trap itself has features like the plate on top where the handle is so they can't try to bite you. This was important to me for my safety. The size is generous so the squirrel could get around inside until I could take him away for release. I feel the metal material will hold up for years of use. The price was reasonable and my birds can eat in peace. If you're looking for a well built trap this is one you should try.

It will trap raccoons & chipmunks.
I've only had this cage for 3 days but I already unintentionally caught a full grown adult raccoon. I bought it for squirrels thinking it was safe for not catching raccoons. I know this raccoon because he has been coming around for months every evening and several times during the day. I have a trailcam so I've seen him every night. He checked out the trap 2 nights and triggered it by just reaching through the holes in the cage to reach the bait, which I've since fixed. The highest part of his back was well above the top of the trap so I thought it was safe. Last night I watch him on the trailcam get down on his belly and inch his way into the cage by stretching out his body. He got about 1/2 to 3/4 way in when the door slammed down causing him to bolt forward and getting all the way into the trap with just his tail sticking out. His tail was fine but he was in there so tight that he couldn't struggle and possibly damage the trap and escape. I haven't caught a squirrel yet but it doesn't stand a chance with this trap. He now lives far away and the trap wasn't damaged. I recommend this trap if you don't mind catching raccoons. It's hard to see him in this photo because he is so packed in there, but you can see his ears poking out of the top left of the trap. Update: After having this cage for about a week, Iโve not only caught a raccoon but now a chipmunk. The door came down on its neck, but it didnโt kill it. So far, I still have not caught a squirrel. Iโve seen them eating sunflower seeds on the ground around the cage, but they do not go inside, even though it is camouflaged and has peanuts & sunflower seeds at the entrance.

works as it should
easy to set, seems sturdy. it is a very small trap so definitely not catching anything bigger than a squirrel. I caught 1 each day for three days in a row because they were destroying my trash cans.

I highly recommend it
Works like a charm . I must have caught 12 pesky squirrels already , so many Iโve lost count . So glad that I found this squirrel trap because I tried using the hav a heart trap to no avail . On the hav a heart trap the squirrels always tripped it before getting in it because the mechanism is so sensitive.

LATCH/HOOK System will Never Work for you if you get Cage 'Bad Batch/Lot' from the Factory
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Why a 1???? (Trust me I wanted it to be a 5)... When this product came, it just did not latch--AT ALL... I spent approx. $34 thinking it was going to be a least better than the ones for for $20. I understand that the latches need to be sensitive, but the latch did not even tuck under (if you know, you know what I am talking about). I was thinking did I get the batch that was returned by the other One-Stars? So before I decided to return, I tried about 2 hours trying to reverse-engineer the latch system (insert eye-roll). If I was not a tenacious person who has Labrador Retriever Focus, I would have given up. I tried pliers to bend the hook just ever so--that didn't work (and an easy fix that would be, right?). Then, miraculously it hooked. I walked away and heard the snap of the cage door shut and had to come back for another 30 minutes--thinking it must be me not 'getting' how it works--listen, the technology is 'Cave Man' so it's not technical--it should be easy with a hinge operating system. Then I pulled the side bar over and seemed to get the latch to shut--and I tip toed away. Ok--I come back that evening and catch my first squirrel!! So, now I feel like a Big Shot--expert Squirrel Hunter, put me on the Next Season of 'Alone'. I go back to re-latch and it would not work again--just won't latch. I tried 50 times? Then figured I could put a thin twig against the side bar to hold the latch/hook system in place--it took another hour to get it right. And it worked. I have caught 3 squirrels so far this way...But I seriously DO NOT RECOMMEND this for the amateur squirrel catcher. The cage itself is sturdy--AMEN for some perk!--Squirrel can't escape at all. But good luck getting a squirrel into the cage with the disastrous hook latch system. If this company wants to send me a new one to try--I am open to seeing if the one I have is the Lemon/Fluke/One-Off. Mic Drop

Effective
In the past week it has trapped 5 squirrels. The first week I didn't catch anything, then I read that some bait should be outside the cage. So I sprinkled seeds (it is under a bird feeder that the squirrels come to) around the outside and the inside. Immediately started seeing results. I was able to actually watch two wander around the outside and slowly 'eat' their way to the back. As soon as they stepped on the trigger, it snapped shut. Note: These are not 'safe' for the animal. They will hurt themselves trying to get out so it is important to check the trap often to give them some chance of surviving if you relocate them.

Get it!!!
Saved my life!!! I had a kitten that bit me that I needed to get back to the shelter, he was not catchable!!!! Was not trying to leave my house! I put this out and he was secured in 45 minutes from me setting it to down he had room to move around even at 4lbs.
