Love This Game
I bought this as I love Mario Kart but couldn’t get that for the PS3. So thought I’d try this and I wasn’t disappointed! I didn’t expect graphics this good and the gameplay is great also. Now I love it as much as Mario!

the original was good but this outshines it in almost every way
When Sonic and Sega All Stars racing came out I actually casually enjoyed that game it wasn't perfect but it was good. Fast Forward 2-3 years later and the sequel sonic and all stars racing transformed comes out and made the original obsolete and even in my opinion better then Mario Kart 7 on the 3ds (still a great game though). The Characters in the game are a good mix everything from the standard sonic, tails, eggman to other people from sega such as B.D joe (crazy taxi) to Joe Mussashi (shinobi). The Tracks is what really makes this game stand out from other kart racers most of the tracks change from lap to lap and are designed very well plus there are 4 tracks from the previous game return also which is a nice bonus and a download voucher for a outrun bay track if I assume you buy the game new. I can't really compare this game to any other versions such as ps3, wii u, etc cause this is the only version I played but I assume the graphics have been downscaled some but probably not much because the game looks really nice the graphics are great. It did at first before I updated it seem to have frame rate issues but I can't notice anymore. The transform aspect of this game is very well done and makes the game feel like a cross between the original, diddy kong racing, and a little bit of wave race mixed in at the water parts. Really my only problem with this game is the powerups minus a few are kinda meh. Anyway this is a great game to play on the road or at home and if your a sonic or kart racer fan pick this game up. pros: really fun game to play on a portable device great characters, controls graphics are good lots of gameplay time for a kart racer cons: slight frame rate issue but I believe it was fixed or seems like it powerups aren't very good

Fun and Easy to Play
I bought this for my 8 year old daughter. She loves it and it holds her attention. The graphics are very nice and the game was simple enough for her to pick up and play without needing a tutorial. There are over 20 racers to chose from, the vehicles can transform from a car, to a boat or plane depending on the racing terrain. There are 16 dynamic tracks to choose from and you can develop your racing skills and use weapons to out-wit and out-race your opponents!

Great racing game, similar, and yet different from Mario Kart
I bought this game after reading several good reviews. I am glad that I did. As one of the few racing games on recent Nintendo consoles, there are some inevitable comparisons to Mario Kart. The first thing you will notice about this game is that it is BUSY. Graphically there is a lot more going on than what you would expect from Mario Kart Wii. This can make for an exciting (if overwhelming at first). Graphics on the TV (at 1080p) are gorgeous. If you decide to play it on the Wii U gamepad, the graphics are not very good, but it is still nice to have the capability to play off TV. It is worth noting that the gas and breaks are operated via the LR triggers, as with the Need for Speed series (differing from Mario Kart controls). If you are used to Mario Kart, the response and feel of the vehicles is quite different, although this only takes a few minutes to get used to. Going around and unlocking things is pretty fun. There are tons of things to unlock. Characters, mods, stages, etc. One of my favorite things about this game as opposed to Mario Kart is the ability to level up drivers. When you level up drivers you get different vehicle mods that change the performance and response of the vehicle in very noticeable ways. The stage design is awesome, with most stages being modeled off of some Sega franchise. I am not super familiar with SEGA games, but the concept is really cool. Each stage has parts where you drive, fly, and boat around. These vehicle transitions are quite smooth for the most part. The items in this game for the most part are pretty crappy (in my opinion). One nice thing about items in this game as opposed to Mario Kart is that they do not dominate the race. If you get hit with an item, it usually only sets you back a few places in the race (as opposed to 1st to last transitions in Mario Kart games), so the outcome is more based on racing skill, than item defense. This game truly shines in its multiplayer. Playing grand prix races with a group of friends is truly a blast. All in all, this is a very good game. When I got it on Amazon, it was $40. That was a GREAT deal, and now it is under $30!! I don't think it is QUITE as good as MKWii, however anyone that is a fan of the Mario Kart series should definitely pick up this game. I am certain that when I have friends over to play games, this one will not collect dust. Gameplay (8/10): Very well done, an impressive game, inspired by, but differing in a refreshing way from the Mario Kart series. Graphics (9/10): Beautiful, impressive for a launch title. In my opinion, the best graphics of a Wii U launch game. Music (6/10): Pretty lackluster. Obviously not much thought was put in to the music. As an active classical musician, music is one of my favorite aspects of games, and the music is mostly unremarkable (with a few exceptions) and occasionally annoying (play the Samba de Amigo stage....) Replay value (8/10): Fun game. Completionists will be challenged. Once you have unlocked most of the stuff, you won't really want to play it by yourself anymore. However, this makes a great party game, and is a blast to play with friends. Overall: 8/10
