What is the thickness of the bar at each end. I'm looking to lift and repair decking boards that has a 5mm gap to get the bar into.

For the first 50mm it's 4.5 mm then slowly thickens to 6 mm in middle of the bar

Which end do you use to remove skirting boads

Use the slightly curved end of the tool ,to get between the floor joint.

Is it any good for spreading jam on my toast

......only if your name is jambob and if your jam is really rough.

Would this be sturdy enough to get in the gap and then prise apart and lift up concrete paving slabs (24 x 30 inch).

I was introduced to the Roughneck in a video on roofing and I have used it successfully to lift fairly heavy roof tiles but these are nothing like a 24 x 30 inch slab! The video said you could bend the bar if you needed a shallower angle and that does not bode well for use with a heavy slab. For really heavy work, I use a similar shaped bar but with a hexagonal cross section which never bends!
