The total length of the wrap is approx. 44" (110cm) and the velcro strips are each 4" (10cm) long but not set right at the ends of the wrap, so there is considerable overlap. My understanding is that it is meant to fit up to 32" (80cm) without extension or alteration, but can be easily adapted to fit 36"(90cm). . After all, the heated pad is the important bit, all the wrap does is hold it in place like a wide soft belt. I needed to alter mine the other way, to have velcro in place to shorten it, to fit tight on my size 8 waist. My husband needed his extended so I sewed wide velcro on each end of  a strip cut from old jeans, so he can have it as tight or as loose as he wants. The other question to ask is where does he need the heat,  as some men will be wearing the wrap for lower back pain, and the wrap will be below his maximum girth (lower than a trouser waistline)

I am small built - uk size 6/8....will i still be able to do the velcro up, or is this wrap too big for me?

Think it will be fine I bought some double sided velcro and made it fit my size, this has been a great help to me stays warm for hours and helps my back and hip pain, was a great buy.

How pong do you have to wait before you can reheat it again?

The official answer is wait until the gel pack is at room temperature. This is to avoid overheating, bit if you remember that  room temperature is likely to be slightly warm already,  a slight extra residual warmth is not really going to matter.  Experience will tell you what is comfortable for you, but be careful not to overheat, so do not heat for the normally full amount. Personally, if it has dropped below an ideal temperature,  I halve the normal time on microwave, test, then increase by 30 seconds till it is hot enough .  The number of times in a day that you reheat is not an issue, but the more usage it has, the sooner the plastic may begin to deteriorate. Having said that, I wore mine almost constantly for two years, while suffering from sciatica, and it remained perfectly usable.
