What is the difference between this product and gu roctane energy gel?

The texture is quite different, this is liquid, not a gel.

What are the advantages of GU in liquid form over its original gel concoction?

SO much easier to eat/drink. I just started using the liquid form and love it. It’s easy to drink, no need to add water to wash it down. I love the regular GU also but the liquid one is amazing and a game changer if you are out somewhere and may not have much access to water

Buyers only; How's the coffee taste?

not good. it tastes like an artificial flavoring that was made to mimic vending machine coffee. the kind of cheap vending machine coffee that uses a squirt of laboratory made concentrated coffee flavored liquid and adds hot water. all of the "GU liquid energy" flavors that I've had were chemical tasting, bad enough so I've never had them again.

The gel is great, it works very well for me and the reason I give 4 stars is because of the packaging that is too fragile and they break easily.

I have tried A LOT of different energy/nutrition gels and these are definitely among my absolute favorite (i.e., I have a recurring subscription). The main things I like are that these particular ones are caffeinated and that they're MUCH easier to down (i.e., swallow). These are NOT you're typical gel texture, like jam, syrup, or peanut butter. Instead they are literally liquid, it is a bag of concentrated liquid and, thus, very easy to swallow.

These are useful especially if you're on a long ride (100km+) as they're a burst of energy to help reduce fatigue. If you're looking for a gel, this is not, more of an unpleasantly thick syrup. They do the job, but I wouldn't buy them again
