Don't just read - read aloud! A treasure-trove of favourite tales chosen by Pie Corbett from around the world, each accompanied by an audio retelling by a professional storyteller including Pie Corbett, Taffy Thomas and Xanthe Graham. This book gives children the perfect opportunity to read aloud, listen along, follow text, read together and do all the things they need to build reading, listening, speaking and comprehension skills! They'll meet dragons, monsters and much more in this captivating collection, which comes with an audio CD. Review: Thought provoking stories - These stories are simply amazing!! I am a primary school teacher and I own the series as there is The Gingerbread Man and other stories for 4-7year olds and also The Boy and the Tiger for ages 9-11. They are fabulous stories which keep the children engaged and asking for more. I am a PPA teacher so I am in every class in the school so these stories are a fun time filler but could also be used for more elaborate story writing lessons. The children already have their favourite stories in the compilation and ask for them again and again. They are also a real joy to read and not just to listen to!!! Review: well worth it - Got this for my son's 7th birthday and he loves it. He listens to the stories over and over again.I even enjoyed listening to the stories even though most of them are quite old fashioned and he does't understand some of the words. He still listens to it most nights

Bought this in readiness for my new theme of Dungeons and Dragons. A great resource that the children will love.

avoid avoid avoid...despite the stellar name of pie in there
stories totally awful-maybe best read by a hippie story teller...........rubbish for bed time and gets kids writing a bad name........idealistic rubbish that appeals not to a 7 year old....cut off your beard and read some good stuff instead...it matters
