8" Serrated Dressmaker's Fabric Scissors for Cutting Clothes

Finally got a pair of scissors that can cut silky fabric. It has a nice grip that holds onto the fabric. They are a bit heavy if you are using for extended periods and the handle is not very ergonomic bit they are sharp and cut well.

These are exceptional scissors. I only wish they had been available years ago when I first started sewing. They cut so smoothly, are very light weight, all the fabrics I have tested were cut easily and accurately without fabric slipping between the blades (fine micro polyester knits, silks, chiffon, synthetic lining fabric, you name it!) They are reasonably priced, have an adjustable screw rather than a rivet, very comfortable in my hand and they come with a hard plastic blade protector. Remember to clean the blades one at a time, by carefully wiping them with a soft, clean cotton/flannel cloth. Don't apply too much pressure when cleaning them, they are extremely sharp. Begin from the pivot point toward the tips of the blades. Wipe blades often (I didn't realize this was important until I read about it in a quilting book) because fibres/lint that remain on the blades and accumulate at the pivot point will dull the blades. Excellent Quality, Reasonable Price, Very Effective, Beautifully Made. I am very pleased with these scissors and highly recommend them (Gingher Brand scissors are of excellent quality and Gingher continues to produce products of very high standard. I hope they continue to do so for a long, long time!)

Love these scissors. I use them to cut RC and Fiber photo paper because I needed something with ultra precision, and I love them. Also great as sewing and fabric scissors, but found they worked phenomenally for an art purpose as well. Worth every penny—super sharp, great serrated edge, weight was not too heavy—really pleased with the purchase.

Fiskars owns Gingher -- yes, it's sad but true. I took this into consideration when taking a gamble on buying these, seeing as though the title says "Fiskars", but the picture, entire ad, on down to the specs say "Gingher." This particular pair is in fact Gingher. I was pleased as punch with this! Amazon, you really ought to fact-check your ads before placing them. Just a thought. Now, onto the scissors ;-). These scissors truly look and feel like a fancy, shmancy, overpriced piece of German cutlery. At just over $20 a pop, I feel like I'm robbing Gingher, rather than vice versa as is with so many other companies. These scissors have tiny little serrated "teeth", excellent for grasping slippery fabric or finer fabrics such as chiffon. The blade is quite sharp; the scissors cut very efficiently; and these scissors posses the perfect amount of tension. Be that as it may, I work with cotton/bamboo/hemp/pul/poly knits, organic fleeces, jerseys, and heavy duty velours. I make cloth diapers, cloth diaper accessories, and baby clothes. Also, I work with tons of elastic. These scissors are not the best for all of these fabrics. In order, I love: 1) My 10" Kai Professional shears 2) Kretzer 9" Tailor shears 3) 9" Wiss Dressmaker shears 4) My 10" Gingher Dressmaker shears I have small, skinny hands and as I've stated before, I work with very specific fabrics. My needs are fully met with the aforementioned scissors; however, the 8" Gingher micro-serrated are not a necessity.

I am obsessed with these fabric shears! They’re essentially the holy grail of cutting. I purchased them to design and cut old band shirts and also thick jean material and let me tell you, they slide like BUTTER (so smooth, so amazing! ). The metal feels very high quality and they even look very high end, I feel cool every time I use them!

I ordered a gift, Gingher Shears. The packaging presentation is awful. Shocked Quality Control sent it out. If Gingher only knew. Terrible. Very disappointed. It's for a gift. There is no way I would give it as a gift looking like that. Immediately requested a replacement. I wanted to contact Customer Service. That is another issue. Chat kept sending me to continue to shop. Chat said Amazaon would call me, but I could never get to that point. Very frustrating. Amazon has made it impossible to talk to a "real human." I guess they want customers, but do not want any contact with them.

Cut like butter.

Fist purchased the 8” Dressmakes Shears w/Knife edge for Nana as she gets back into her sewing hobby. She said they are incredibly nice and the best that she’s owned. I’ve been learning apparel construction from her and purchased my own pair. These shears are weighty in the best sense, solid stainless steel. The manual action is crisp. The blades are crisp and sharp, making a clear “schwnip” sound when actuated. I use them not only for fabric, but for wrapping paper, cardstock, etc. be sure to get a scissor sharpener to keep those blades pristine!

Having seen my old Klasse scissors be made a casualty thanks to a visitor subjecting them to cardboard and coarse, damaging sticky tape, I went online and was surprised to see that Gingher scissors were available on the Amazon AU website. Recommended to me by a few fellow seamsters, I took the plunge and bought the serrated edge. After a little over a week and a half, I received the scissors in a packaged sleeve. The sleeve itself was damaged, but the box inside was immaculate if not a little difficult to pry open due to the top adhesive. Beyond that, the scissors were easy to take out of the box with its sleeve next to it. It also came off as well made and had an even balance without being too heavy on either side. With that in mind, all that was left was to test them on the fabrics I commonly use. As someone with big hands, the handles were comfortable enough for a few hours use at a time but I could only use 4 of my 5 fingers for grip. Initially, I also found that there was a little more friction than needed, so I followed the box instructions and added a drop of oil to the pivot. The result? An immaculate cut. Silk and PVC are especially my forte and considering their reputations for sliding and needing great sharpness, both were tamed instantly, removing the mild wrestle of correction from my work. Overall, the build quality, sharpness and comfort were mostly top notch and to say im now an avid fan of Gingher is an understatement. I look forward to the experience of the non-serrated blade and embroidery scissors I also have on order from this brand. 9/10

Good

Tijera micro-serrada, muy buen corte sin que las telas finas se deslicen. Las Gingher tienen fama y con razón.

These are very high quality and precision shears. They are comfortable;e to grip and easy steer during long cuts.

Very good product.
