Rod Stewart wrote the book on lead singers as rock stars go in the late '60s and early '70s fronting The Jeff Beck Group, Faces, and currently as a solo artist. His rooster-shag hairdo, sandpaper vocals, mike-stand-twirling onstage swagger, and offstage ribaldry - not to mention his gift for songwriting from ballsy rockers to hilarious story-songs to sensitive-guy ballads - are the stuff that this rock legend is made of. Rod's string of hit singles and multi-platinum albums remains unbroken to this day. The Voice: The Very Best Of Rod Stewart spins 16 Rod the Mod classics from his Warner Bros. albums and cross-licensed to include "Maggie May" and "You Wear It Well" from his Mercury releases. This exclusive rare package includes material from 13 albums spanning from the early 1970's to the late 1990's. Certified Gold by the RIAA. Great music from Rod

Covers virtually all Rod's best material especially from the 1970s
Although I've never considered myself as a big fan of Rod Stewart, I have to admit that there is plenty to admire on this 2CD compilation which covers his career from the 1970s through to the end of the century. Disc 1 (A Night Out) is, in my opinion, the weaker half of the package even though it does include 3 early classics in the shape of 'Maggie May', 'You Wear It Well' and 'Stay With Me' (The Faces). Disc 2 (A Night In) demonstrates Rod's vocal skills in their best light with lovely, reflective songs such as 'Sailing', 'The Killing Of Georgie', 'The First Cut Is The Deepest', 'You're In My Heart', 'I Don't Want To Talk About It', 'I Was Only Joking' and the glorious 'In A Broken Dream' (Python Lee Jackson with an uncredited, but searing, vocal performance from Rod). This is a very decent collection and really good value for money.

I found that this album has Young Turks and Forever Young, I liked both and it was the only album that I found that had both in 1 cd. I didn’t think I would enjoy all these songs, turns out I do. This person picked out good tracks for how much this cd is worth!
