Looks classy, easy to read in the dimmest light, quick to read where preoccupations demand it. The recipient wears it on his belt, kept in a trousers' fob pocket with NO other item, and can haul it out and read it in a jiffy no matter the circumstances. Where work makes such demands these abilities are invaluable but since it is also an item of classic design and unadorned beauty this vastly increases the joy of ownership. As the alternative to a traditional pocket watch it is supreme, and well worth the added cost. A joy for ever and a present which offers constant reminder of the occasion of the gift and of the donor. It is probably the best present I have bought for anyone in my whole life though by no means the most expensive.

Elegant and simple design for high quality pocket watch. It arrived promptly with chain and leather case.

The pocket watch is very good it is a pity the leather case is so big as the pocket watch gets lost in it.

Looked good was good. Adjusting crown broke, the watch was replaced free of charge. Needed new battery after sometime. Again adjusting crown broke off or no apparent reason. Opened case only to be amazed to see adjuster connectjng rod to be pathetically thin.from an engineering view it was not good. Yes it did have a swiss ronda motor, but still excessively overpriced. Swiss No more, I am going Japanese.I hope y railway watch survives longer in the landfill than it did in my pocket.

I have had pocket watches for years and carry vintage Swiss made British Rail pocket watch daily. I have been looking at the Mondaine pocket watch for some time and decided to treat myself. It is even better close up especially in its own red leather case, a very beautiful addition to my wardrobe.

This is a high quality modern pocket watch that performs faultlessly. The styling is simple and elegant with no fancy gimmicks or attempts to be what it isn't - its simple, clean and oozes quality. I love my old mechanical pocket watched but this is something else, Perfect.

I love almost everything about this watch, its plain but beautiful face with the trademark Swiss Railways red-disc Second hand sweeping across its face, the smooth snake-chain that attaches to it, and the red leather velvet-lined carrying case is a great all-in package. The Swiss Railways logo and engraving on the back of the stainless steel case is clean and crisp and is a nice finishing touch. That said, I am a bit disappointed (hence 4 and not 5 stars) with the fact that the Second hand doesn't align properly with the numerals as it ticks round the watch face. Trivial perhaps, but I think a precision Railway watch should be precise!

Discreto, elegante, funcional, suizo, en una palabra. Dentro de una caja muy espartana, sin alardes, viene un estuche de cuero de color rojo con el reloj y su correspondiente cadena. Yo lo empleo a diario, porque de nada sirve comprar estas cosas y guardarlas por miedo a estropearlas. El único pero que le pongo es que la cadena es un poco larga para llevarlo en el bolsillo pequeño del pantalón y el hecho de que lleve cristal mineral en vez de zafiro, aunque eso encarecería más el precio del producto. Por cierto, Amazon, sensacional. Me llegó el reloj con unos leves arañazos en la cubierta trasera y enseguida procedieron al cambio.
