So far so good! Suction power could be better (with adding an extra filter to the metal mesh as I did, reduces the power) it arrived in good condition, works, light is powerful enough. Easy to install, not loud, I'm pleased with this noise level.

Good product

Bought this as a replacement for a very old under unit extractor fan. Fitting was quite easy. For my installation this mean the unit being secured to the underside of the up and over cupboard with four self tapping screws. The important issue to note being that the 4 predrilled holes in the top surface of the unit are all less than 300mm from the wall, i.e. the holes mean you can mount the unit by securing it to the underside of a standard 300mm wall unit. The unit can be externally ducted or switched to recycled. In recycled mode, the efficiency is impaired, but this is to be expected and is like to be true of any extractor fan. Power is fed into the unit on the top back edge of the unit, this almost perfectly lined up with the location for the power cable of the older extractor fan, so a small enlarging of the hole into the up and over cupboard was very easy to do. The unit comes with a rectangle of mesh material that acts as a grease filter. To this I added a sheet of a charcoal filter which is suppose to trap more odours. The advantage with this unit is that the filters are just sheet material rather than more expensive constructed units. The down side of these cheap filters is that it is probably not as effective at trapping stream and odours as more expensive solutions. The unit is made from stainless steel and the edges are sharp so be careful when fitting. Essential an inexpensive, easy to fit solution.

First of all you have to be realistic - this is not a state of the art top of the range hood. It's tinny, it's noisy, the filters are small and the drop down door is fairly flimsy. That said for anyone on a budget this is a great little buy. It can be fixed to the wall via the screws at the back, there are holes in the top which allow fixing to the underside of a bridging unit or sit it on panels attached to the units either side. It can be recirculated or vented. It has a front light, 3 fan settings and the drop down door can be removed but take care with the sharp edges. It also plugs straight into a wall socket but note that there is a kettle style connector halfway along the cable so you may have to drill holes into units. The slim design also gives it a good modern look. Bottom line is this will do the job at a fraction of the cost and do it quite well for the price.

Cooker hood was dented on the front. Seller was unhelpful, luckily Amazon stepped in and refunded it. Great customer service from Amazon as usual. Seems to do it's job okay, bit tinny weak sounding. Very light. Looks good.

Do not buy this unit as it is not fit for purpose. The fan is not positioned in the centre and subsequently will only pull in air if you are cooking on the right hand side of the hob, but the left hand side does absolutely nothing. I tested this by placing a bit of kitchen paper on the grill and it is held up on the right barely, but on the left hand side it is useless. I am currently dealing with Ciarra customer services, and the only positive thing to say is they are reasonably responsive. However they did try and give me 15 discount on a unit that is not even 50% working. See my video and make your own mind up, but buyer beware, it is cheap for a reason. Going for a refund now as not acceptable that Amazon sell these despite them now putting up a warning that it is frequently returned. After I purchased I note

Omdat het product goed is, geef ik op Amazone 4 sterren! 1 minder omdat het veel te lang onderweg was door DHL. De afzuigkap is eenvoudig op te hangen en werkt heel effectief. Behoorlijk stil! Absoluut een aanrader!

Je l'ai installée le jour de la réception. Elle était très bien emballé et aucune pièce cassée. Montage facile ... extraction externe ... Attention le trou du tuyau d'évacuation n'était pas centré comme la hotte Rozières qui était installée. J'ai du modifier le trou d'évacuation dans le meuble. Elle fait un bruit comme une hotte et je la trouve non bruyante quelle que soit la vitesse sélectionnée. L'éclairage est parfait. Encastrée, elle s'intègre parfaitement bien dans le meuble cuisine de notre maison de location. J'espère que nos locataires l'apprécieront et sauront en prendre soin car l'inox est nickel. Cette hotte d'un excellent rapport qualité/prix et de classe A+ ne vous décevra pas.
