INTEX Intex Debris/Weather Cover for 12ft Frame Pools #28031

I was slightly sceptical as it was far cheaper than most other covers. It does a good job of staying on even in the wind.

It works really well in conjunction with a solar cover which floats and prevents this cover sinking (see other reviews). I also tie off the strings around two poles to avoid tearing, and tie them off in the direction of the prevailing wind to prevent it lifting. Yes it's not really heavy duty but it does stop debris getting in the pool.

Unfortunately, this extremely flimsy pool cover needs at least 6 adults to put it on and then it doesn't really stay in place. It keeps slipping into the water and so allowing debris in. Its then a bit of a mission to get it out of the water, and if your friends have left, 2 or 3 adults have no chance of getting this back on. To keep it in place you will need to add velcro or make pool ties all around the perimeter and some how attach these to something study (we use full 6l water bottles) to stop cover blowing away. The whole thing is a disaster and needs hours of alteration and man power to make it work. It is quite cheap however and I couldn't really find an alternative. I think Intex may need to come up with something better than this though. I do not recommend!

Works well , definitely on the large size

Fits Intex 12ft frame pool perfectly. The material it is made of is suitable for purpose. It has faded a bit, but that is to be expected with the proximity to chlorine and sun. However, and most importantly, it will NOT stay put across the width of a 12ft pool without some significant retrofitting. Any wind will cause it to slide into your pool. The rope threaded around the edge serves little purpose except perhaps causing it to rip if someone tries to neatly tie it. The drain holes work to stop water build up on top, but that isn't relevant if it's slipped into the pool and sunk (or blown away) already. So in essence if you are not prepared to spend a bit of time and more money strengthening it I wouldn't waste my money buying it at all. The cover is jointed across the diameter (no issue there just BTW), and around the pool edge. The sewn joints around the diameter (edge) are easily pulled to expose the thread and will tear - but read on if you're not put off. There is some hope for this cover, if like me you weren't able to find a suitable alternative cover that could keep the pool covered when not in use. With significant modifications this cover can be a made into a durable solution (2-3 seasons - I hope). This is what I did: I have reinforced all the joints with jointing tape, made a cross-pool support, and added grommets with rope ties to hold it firmly in place - these modifications have more than doubled the final cost of the cover, but it now withstands very strong winds without coming off. I would be able to reuse some of the extra expense on a new cover when this one gives up.

When we first put this cover on, it fit pretty well. The draw strings were there so you can tighten it a little. It worked fine for a few days until it started to get windy. Once it started getting a little windy the wind started getting under the cover. We watched a small gust take half the cover off. The drawstring is a nice feature, but the cover material is so thin that if you pull the strings a little hard, it starts to tear the cover. There is now about a 12 inch tear on the left hole and a 6 in tear on the right hole. I tried using duct tape to fix it but the cover just keeps on coming off. I don't recommend buying this unless you have zero wind. I plan on returning this and getting another brand

Happy to have bought this as the number of leaves and stuff getting in to pool were an issue. It fits well and even in high winds it says on. One thing I did though was to make a small..and I mean small, hole in the middle of the cover, because when it rains it collects pretty quickly. The hole allows the rain water to drain preventing the cover from filling up and ending up in the pool or being stretched to all hell.
