Great ironing board
At first felt a bit light and flimsy compared to my old one. But it has proved to be really good to use and not flimsy at all. Really appreciate the fact it is lighter. Had it a while and not complaints at all. But with confidence.

Got there eventually
This ironing board comes in plastic shrink wrap which was damaged in several places so one of the plastic feet was missing. Minky were distinctly unhelpful and said I had to contact Amazon, nothing to do with them. I decided to send the board back but easiest way was to ask for a replacement so I got a new one next day. Guess what? Same torn packaging and plastic foot missing. So I took one from the board waiting to be picked up, which was easy as the plastic wrap is torn anyway and now have a complete one and one with two missing feet. Board goes up and down easily, stores perfectly and seems solid and good value for money. Very good quality cover. I’m sure it will do the job perfectly.

The great joy of a perforated ironing board
I took the cover off my old, cheap, not particularly cheerful ironing board, to wash - and discovered a horrid multitude of steamy sins. That ironing board was solid metal, with a few random holes, and coated with some kind of protective surface. And of course, we all use steam irons. So, where does the steam end up, which penetrates the clothes, the cover, any subsidiary cover and the like. Pooling and trapped on that protective surface that's where. Not that the protection does that good a job. Lifting off my double cover I lifted off some horrid, plastic painty type surface, flaking from the board itself. I did think (sigh) of buying another cheap board, but that too is only at some point going to add to landfill. The Minky has PERFORATIONS all over the base. Someone thought about where the steam might go, if it was trapped. The board is bigger than I expected, when folded up - though the ironing board itself is as described, folded and vertical it is around 160 cm, not 122 cm! - so I did find I can't store it where I had planned, and where that old board used to fit It is quite hefty, so unless you have a dedicated utility room where it can be left set up, it may be a bit of a struggle for anyone frail .The opening mechanism is really good, and I can understand why it costs around 2 - 3 times the price of that old, very boggy (!) standard one I was tempted to drop a star for incorrect item dimension, but I like it too much in action. I decided to invest in an additional felt layer based on what other ironers were saying. My, it makes a difference The cover is elasticated, and fits well, and can be removed for washing or replaced if damaged Minky replacement covers, tightly elasticated are therefore an easier fit than those old tightening cords I do like the fact it is made in this country and so buying it supports British manufacturing I'm never going to enjoy ironing, but though a bad workperson blames their tools, I can already see a difference in my manky ironing now I have better tools!

A sturdy, well-designed ironing board that combines stability, ease of use and smart design touches
The Minky Ergo Ironing Board is a well-built, thoughtfully designed piece of household kit that performs exactly as you’d hope. It’s sturdy, stable and easy to set up, making it a pleasure to use, even for longer ironing sessions. The build quality feels reassuringly solid. The board remains steady under pressure, with no wobble or flex while ironing. The surface area is generous, which makes a noticeable difference when working on shirts, dresses and larger garments. It’s also well suited for pressing bedding or tablecloths thanks to the wide surface. One of the standout features is the cover. It stays firmly in place during use - something that can’t always be said for other boards I've used. It fits snugly and doesn’t bunch or slip, allowing for smooth, consistent ironing across the full surface. The integrated iron rest is sturdy and conveniently positioned, making it easy to place and pick up the iron without breaking rhythm. Folding and unfolding the board is straightforward, and the locking mechanism feels secure. It’s also easy to move around thanks to its manageable weight and ergonomic design. The only point to bear in mind is its size: the generous surface area means it requires a bit more storage space than smaller models, so it’s worth checking where it will live when not in use. Aesthetically, it looks good too. The blue cover gives it a clean, modern appearance that feels more premium than most standard ironing boards. Overall, this is a durable, practical and well-designed ironing board that’s built for everyday use. It makes a routine task simpler, quicker and more comfortable.

Really sturdy, great item.

Cover not good!
The board cover is very thin which means the steam soaks through from the iron and drips onto the floor! Need a thicker/more waterproof cover.

Ironing is still a chore, this board makes it easier.
The greatest board ever. The only thing missing is an attached outlet.
