This hand mixer has great speed when using full speed (6) and works perfect for things like meringue It not too fast when it’s on setting 1 (slow speed) for folding ingredients or mixing dry products Obviously if you use it on full speed for something like dry flour or icing sugar, it will go everywhere you just need to be careful about how you mix as some people have complained it’s too powerful, but I haven’t found this to be an issue. The power is needed for getting things like meringue to form peaks quick enough. It comes with three different attachments and they work great too for mixing different consistency mixtures. Again depending on what you are mixing you’ll have a suitable attachment to use. Just need to experiment which works for what. The fan is at the rear side of the mixer instead of front so you don’t have flour being blown as you mix dry ingredients. The fan stops it overheating. If you use towel you can get it to stand in place and whisk while you prepare other things. I’ve enjoyed using this hand mixer almost every day this week and would recommend it.

This comes in a great package that lets you store it and it worked perfectly. I find the different speeds and the turbo option really good for baking. It was a bit heavy for my skinny arm (but I'm not particularly strong) but it mixed the ingredients perfectly and it wasn't hard to hold. Because this is a personal "issue" it gets a 5 star review :) I haven't used it many times but I hope it lasts a long time! Overall it's a good quality item that looks resisten.

This is pretty much a perfect mixer; very comfortable to hold and the whisks etc. are very well build and they will definitely last long. There are five speed settings plus one turbo button, but the turbo button doesn't seem to do anything if you are already using the mixer on it's fastest speed. My only major complain is the power cord which is for some reason installed to the side of the mixer instead of back of it. In other words when you are using the mixer you need to be careful since the power cord could easily drop to your mixing bowl and get shred by the mixer. There have been few times that this almost happened to me so I'm not super happy about it since that can be quite dangerous. It would have been an ideal situation if the power cord was at the back of the mixer since that way it would always stay out from the mixing bowl. But that is my only complain, otherwise this is an excellent mixer for a great price!

I had bought one of these 13 years ago...and needed to replace it.This model has been updated with dough hooks as aell.Such a great little mixer! Really easy to use..and hold..and powerful. Haven't used the dough hooks yet..but a nice extra. I am a fan of James Martin and that's why I got this Wahl mixer in the first place. Very happy!

I am really happy with this machine. The speeds are very controllable, starting with a slow speed which I never got with my old machine. Starting slowly means you don't spray the kitchen with mixture! The machine feels well made and solid. I think it will last a long time. It is a bit heavier than my old machine but not so much that I can't handle it. I like the fact that the beaters are metal, much better than plastic. There is also a whisk which is a bonus, never seen one before with a hand held food mixer before. The price was very reasonable. Very pleased with the machine and would recommend it.

This is the second James Martin hand mixer that I have had and both have been/are excellent. There are many things I like about this product - it's sturdy, you can 'stand it up' if you pause during mixing, there are variable speeds, it's powerful and the attachments come away easily, at the press of a button. Just beware that you have to place the appropriate whisk in the correct hole as the connectors differ in size. I made the mistake of getting them the wrong way round and as a consequence struggled to get the whisks out! Great product for the money. I would definitely recommend it!

Bought as my ancient mixer had just about given up. Read the reviews on this and several other similarly priced items. Decided on this as reviews were mainly good, and I like to think James Martin and Wahl would only endorse/make good reliable products. I am not disappointed! I'm not an avid cook, but have used this mixer about a dozen times, as a whisk and a mixer. Results on both were brilliant, in super fast time. Only thing I would say is that it is quite difficult to eject the tools when finished with, but only due to the amount of pressure needed on the release button. Very very pleased with this product, would certainly recommend.

I bought this mixer in early Oct 2015 as it had great reviews. However I did not need to use it until early Nov and was delighted at the speed of it especially when making buttercream. However I was making a lot of buttercream then and although I rested it for half an hour each time - I used another mixer meantime - it packed in completely on the very first day of use! Most disappointing! Unfortunately I am unable to return the item as the date it had to returned by was 02 Nov! I thought it would've been guaranteed for at least 6 - 12 months!
