Soothing Relief That Actually Lasts I’ve been trying this cough suppressant for a couple of weeks now, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how well it works. Each softgel has 15 mg of dextromethorphan, and the “8-hour” label has been pretty accurate in my experience—I don’t find myself coughing through the night or needing to redose constantly. That alone makes this a big win compared to some liquid syrups I’ve used in the past, which wear off quickly and leave me waking up coughing. The convenience of the softgels is another plus. They’re small, easy to swallow, and don’t leave the medicinal aftertaste you often get with cough syrups. I also really like that they’re non-drowsy—I’ve taken them during the day without feeling groggy, which means I can get through work without distraction. That said, this is a suppressant, not an expectorant, so it won’t help if you’re looking to loosen mucus. For me, though, when my cough is more about irritation and tickle, this is exactly what I need. If your cough tends to come with a lot of chest congestion, you might want something different or use this alongside another product. Bottom line: A reliable, long-lasting cough relief option that works well for controlling that dry, nagging cough—easy to take and non-drowsy, which makes it a very practical addition to the medicine cabinet.

These cough gels have the same ingredients as Delsym cough syrup at a fraction of the cost. I have re-ordered several times and find the product works well to control coughs.

I had a bad cold at the beginning of this winter. I purchased Dextromethorphan from the local RX. It was darn expensive. I purchased this affordable brand from Amazon, and it helped with my cough for a fraction of the price of the big-name brand RX store.
