Bought December 2022 now October 2023. Here's my review
I got this back in December of 2022, so I've almost had it for a year now. I'm really happy with it. Ok, it can only clean where it can reach. I do have some places I have to clean myself (if I want to) because I don't have enough space between the wall and it for the vacuum to go in, but that's my fault for placing things in the way. As for the places it can reach, it's amazing! My floors are always clean and I'm not stressing about people eating away from the table and about bugs because of others being messy. I have mostly wood floors with an area rug and a few rugs in a bathroom and in my room. For the area rug in the living room, that's a real rug, so it has no issues going over it and vacuums just fine. It switches to vacuum only mode and doesn't wet my carpet. I do have to empty the dust bin once in a while (whenever I remember...) but that's OK. My bathroom rugs are a different story. They're light and they bunch up when the bathroom door opens, and sometimes the vacuum can go over them no issues and sometimes it gets stuck. That's the rug issue mainly, so I just move the rug out of the way now. My nephews are AWFUL about cables and keep leaving their headphone cables on the floor. I come back to find the vacuum stopped because it got tangled up in those. It can avoid some things, but not always cables, so I've gotten in the habit of blocking the path to the area where they always have cables lying around and haven't had those issues. I have replaced the mopping pads once since they started to get shredded. With my use case, I think I can last 6ish months on the pads, but I was mopping daily. Now I've cut back to like twice a week for mopping, so I'll have to see how long the pads last with that. Twice a week may be overkill, especially since I'm vacuuming when I'm not vacuuming and mopping but I like walking bare foot and I hate stepping on things, so that's how often I make it clean. I'm not doing it myself, so why not? I do have to remember to open my room door when I hear it coming by or it'll skip me, but I'm ok with a few skips since I'm not making messes like the family members, plus since it mapped my home and I told it what each room is, I can just send it to mop or vacuum or do both in my room or the kitchen or whatever whenever I want to...and I do! Setting this up was so easy. I put the pieces together and it went around scanning my house. It didn't go around each corner, it just went in the rooms and scanned. I was amazed at how fast the whole house was mapped. Coming from the Roomba i3, this was amazing. Things I wish it had are the self emptying of the vacuum. I could have gotten another robot vacuum (DreameBot L10S Ultra) that had the same oscillating mop pads but also had the dust bin self emptying feature, but I saw the places it could have issues and decided against it. The dreamebot fills up a reservoir in the actual robot with water that wets the mop pads and people were talking about having to use a straw to suck out a clog to get it working??? I kept up with their progress and some had issues later down the line, some not. I decided not to take that risk just to have an auto empty bin,, especially since I dont have pets. The Narwal Freo on the other hand has the water go down into the base, the robot cleans the mopping pads and uses the wet mop pads to clean the floor. It comes back when the pads need more water (I can do by room or by a certain square footage) As I have wood floors, i don't want the floors sopping wet. I've walked behind the vacuum and it didn't leave it too wet for my wood floors. I like that I can tell it which room to do in what order and it does it exactly as I say. The app tells me where the robot is IN REAL TIME so if I need to know where it is, I just look at the map and I can find it. They finally have the Automatic Drainage System. I did want to get it on amazon, but they don't have it, so I just ordered it from their website as it's on sale. As it is right now, I only have to empty the dirty water and fill up the clean water once a week. The dirty water tank gets smelly if I leave it too long, so I do clean it out as well. You can't smell it until you're emptying the tanks. With the emptying system, I'm not going to have to deal with that any more. Man I'm looking lazy right now... I'm not, I swear... haha The robot is going strong and working for me. I make adjustments to not leave cables on the floor and to pick up small toys so they don't get caught in the vacuum. My Coredy is making weird noises in the bristle spinning area and I've used the Narwal much longer without that issue. My Roomb i3 has the self emptying bin, but I can't say how many times it hasn't been able to finish a job because of some random error and not having anything stuck in it or having dirty sensors. Now, don't get me wrong, it works still, but I've put it to clean my basement now since I got tired of seeing it and hearing it go over the vents so loudly. My Narwal freo is so quiet that I usually don't know it's running. My sister was here one night and she almost jumped out of her skin because it snuck up on her. It's not silent, but it's quiet. It moves and makes some noise, but it's quiet. Makes the least amount of noise of all my vacuums. I turned off the stair sensor in settings so it can climb over carpets. The wheels raise up and it just goes, haha. I just make sure not to leave my outside and garage doors open when it's running. Those are only open when we have parties anyway. I am glad I took the big leap of faith and got this. Now it's on sale for less than I got it on Black Friday last year, but the headaches avoided by having it earlier more than make up for me missing out on saving. I would have blown a fuse with the mess my family makes and didn't clean up without this thing. The cleaning solution is a bit on the pricy side, but my floors are clean. Overall, I'm really really happy with this even nearly a year later. I'm glad I didn't get the DreameBot L10S Ultra, especially now that I'm not going to have to change any water. Update: 11/21/2024 I've had the water exchange system for a while now, and it's so great not having to change the water out! I tapped into the drain pipe in my laundry room sink. It gives a max height the drain can be, and I decided to just go with that. Got some epoxy and drilled a hole, stuck the tube in and sealed it up. So far, I haven't had issues. The clean water...I had to go to home depot for an adapter as my pipes used smaller connectors. I found one and it worked out for me. I can hear whenever it's getting clean water and draining the dirty water when it washes the mops. It's not super loud, but it's audible. Now I only have to clean the mop cleaning agitation tray once in a while and dump out the dirt from the vacuum bin. Do make sure to clean that as it can and will get clogged and start to leak. I found that out after not cleaning it for over a year...yuck. But now I'm better at checking it and cleaning it. It's easy anyway, just take it out and give it a clean then put it back together and back in. The dirt in there can be whatever the mop comes across that's too big to suck up I'm assuming. It takes a while to get dirty, but it does. I'm still not great about checking it regularly, but if you see water on the floor, you have a clog in the tray and it needs a clean. I haven't had the tube get clogged yet. It has a filter and a lot of stops before any particles get dragged up into the tube. It has been a set it and forget it type of robot that I sometimes forget to empty the bin or clean the tray. I am still in love with it.

Disappointing Performance and Design Flaws
I recently purchased the Narwal robot vacuum with high hopes for a convenient and efficient cleaning solution, but unfortunately, my experience has left me thoroughly dissatisfied. Here's a breakdown of my disappointments: 1. Inadequate Suction: The vacuum's suction power falls far short of expectations. It struggles to pick up dirt effectively, leaving me with the constant feeling that my floors are not as clean as they should be. 2. Sluggish Operation: One of the most frustrating aspects of the Narwal robot vacuum is its slow cleaning process. It takes an exorbitant amount of time to navigate through the entire house, making the cleaning cycle inconveniently long. 3. Unreliable App Functionality: The accompanying app is another letdown. The robot frequently forgets the layout of the rooms, making it unreliable when it comes to executing the tasks I've programmed. Additionally, it often fails to return to its charging station as intended, creating unnecessary inconvenience. 4. Brush Design Flaw: The spinning brush, instead of aiding in the cleaning process, seems to exacerbate the problem. It has a tendency to flick dirt away, rendering the vacuum's suction less effective. This flaw in design significantly hampers the overall cleaning performance. I find myself constantly frustrated with its performance, and it falls short of the expectations set by other robotic vacuums on the market. I wish I had the option to return the Narwal robot vacuum - the numerous issues I've encountered make it a regrettable purchase. In conclusion, if you're considering a robot vacuum for your home, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere for a more reliable and effective option. The Narwal has left me disappointed on multiple fronts, and I cannot recommend it based on my experience.

If you have OCD about clean hardwood/tile/laminate floors, THIS IS YOUR ROBOT!
I have really bad OCD about my floors being clean. I used to spend an hour every day cleaning just 400 sqr ft of laminate and tile floor by hand (cleaning multiple times a day). Now, I just let this guy clean 1 or 2 times a day and that's it. It really is that good! I can't image any other robot being able to clean as well as this does. We get a lot of oil strains from food, oil stains from my gf's 18,000 lotions and creams, you name it, and I was really skeptical this would actual clean them given it does not dry the floors after. But it really works well. By default, it will go back and clean it's pads after every 108 sqr ft, but you can set it lower or higher, or after every room. I had surgery and was unable to clean the floors for a week. After the first pass in the kitchen, it had the typical smeared greasy water look on the floor, it went back, cleaned it's pads, and after the second pass, the floor was as almost as clean as I could get it by hand, after a full week of grease stains. The only things it did not get were caked on stains, which is to be expected, it doesn't have a scraper function (yet). After using it for a few days now, the floors ARE as clean as if I cleaned it by hand. If you have OCD about your floors being clean, this robot is for you. Don't waste your time or money on robots that can't clean their own pads. They will cross contamination once they get dirty and they you have to clean the pads yourself and dry them. When this robot is done, it will go back to the base station, wash it's pads, and then dry them, and it really does dry them. It does take a few hours to dry, but it's pretty quiet. The entire robot is very quiet. I could be on a zoom meeting with it running and it would be fine. The cons I will mention are as follows: - The suction power leaves room to be desired. They claim 3000pa is only 2% worse than 4000pa, I disagree. My Mova Robot Vacuum with 4000pa leaves noticeable lines in the fully carpeted areas of our apartment showing it's clean. This does not, and leaves stuff behind on our low pile rug in our dining room which is on the laminate floors. It works great on hard surfaces though. - Can not clean fully carpeted areas without dragging it's mops all over, then going back to clean the mops that it didn't even using on the carpet before doing maybe 1/5 of the room, will waste tons of cleaning solution for nothing. - Does not empty the trash automatically - Runs through the water very fast. For about 400 sqr ft, it uses more than half a tank. So I need to refill it after every use. One youtube review said you can empty and refill it once a month, I don't know what he was smoking, because it is an after every use thing. If you have a really big floor, this could be a problem. - The cleaning solution is proprietary, and not cheap. It is a decent sized bottle, we'll see how long it lasts. That's about it. I thought this would replace my Mova, but it is not quiet there yet. Maybe the next version they release will really be an all in one. The vacuum is great for hard surfaced floors, it just doesn't clean carpet that well. I will be keeping my MOVA for the fully carpeted area because it does an excellent job. If your like me, and have OCD about your hard surface floors being clean, this is the robot for you. It really does replace a human, assuming you don't splash food everywhere and leave it for days to cake onto the floors. Update: It's been around 2 years now, and it's still running great with no issues. If you notice the mops not cleaning well, you either need to clean the tray out that the mops wash on, (the holes get plugged with lint so it can't clean the mops well) or replace the cleaning solution. I just replaced the mops for the first time after 1 years and 8 months because it finally started coming apart. For me, running it twice a day, the cleaning solution lasts about 6 months, but I have to replace it with one third of the bottle still left because it seems like it's not enough weight to force the correct amount of cleaning solution out and instead of consistent wet floor, I end up with a lot of beads of water (as it's grease trying to bond to water molecules, which from science class, we all know they can't). The cleaning solution is a big part in why this works so well (it creates the chemical bond to the grease to lift and stick it to the pads). The replacement parts and solution kit feels like a gouge at $200. But it is one to one and a half years worth of supplies, and for the time it saves me, or money I would spend hiring a house cleaner, I think it's really quite cheap. It just annoys me when companies charge a 2000 percent markup over cost, just because they can.

Replaced an old roomba with this unit because it also did mopping(something i loath doing)
First off, the vacuum is ok. Its definitely not as powerful as my old roomba. It also has no idea when the bin is full. I think it tries to use an internal counter, but i pretty much have to catch the unit each weekend and dumb the bin anyways. Not a big deal to me, but not something you can just wait until it tells you. Pretty sure there is no sensor in there for this like the roomba had. Sensors are cheap, so i dont understand why it doesnt seem to have one. It does a good job of pulling things in instead of flinging them across the room like the roomba did ( cat food, leaves, etc ). The brushes on each side pull things in good. Cleaning the rollers and pulling stuff out is easy as well. It does tend to find everything ( cat toys, socks, plastic bags ). It also does not handle thick bath carpets well. Mine gets stuck on the edge and will just whine about it. This unit does not have a handle on it either, so that makes it more difficult to pick up. Mopping is pretty good. I have mine set to wet mopping for all mopping activities. It keeps the heads clean and does a good job drying them when done. It alerts when the water is out and needs more as well. You can disable using the cleaner if you dont want to pay for that. Someone mentioned using a special mixture when not using it( suggest that once you run out ). Mop heads are easy to put back on should they get stuck on something. If i have a dirty dried up spot on the floor, i hit it with windex ahead of the mopping, otherwise, it wont get it. So if you make a big mess, either run a single job or spritz it ahead of the mopping job. Definitely have to run this mop every week. I think their mopping technique is based on the standard Japanese method, so dont think of this as a deep cleaning mop, but when running it weekly, it keeps the floors clean. Overall, the unit maps the house well. It starts its run on the outside and works its way in. It picks up where it left off. The no-go zones can be setup and it follows them properly. You can also do area cleans for one off jobs. The jobs are pretty easy to setup and modify ( just not when its running one ). I cannot find a button to eject the unit from the base, so that is a downside for me should i forget to empty the waste bin. I saw videos showing a button on the other units, but nadda in the app or on the base station(WHY??). Overall, its not perfect, not sure anything is. Good price for the multi-function, mopping is great(i dont mind spritzing ahead if i dont have to mop). The navigation makes sure each room is completed. It completes the job even if your house is big and it needs to charge a few times during the job. Map is logical and easy to modify. If you want a power vac, go elsewhere or use two different units.

Honest take on this.
I have had this for almost a year. I`ll try and be brief but good. Draw backs. Does not detect anything that does not hot the infra red/lidar beam head on. So If your dog has a accident your worst nightmares will come true. I had bought a rumba a few weeks earlier and loved how it cleaned but. So when I saw this mopped and vacuumed I had to try it. Not 2 days in was in the basement when I got a notice the robot stopped. As I went upstairs my nose was filled with the most horrific smell you can imagine. My eyes watered my stomach turned and I wanted to yarf all over the stairs up to the kitchen. OMG the horror. The poor robot had dragged it entirely around the kitchen island more than 4 times. It had almost completely covered 200 square feet with dog crap. Where do I start. so went and got the mop and bucket and began mopping the kitchen. I got the robot flipped it over and just did not now what to do with myself. This thing is $1000 and I could not throw it out. So got a face mask. "Thanks Covid" and gloves and began deep cleaning the entire thing. Lucky for me I bought a spares kit when I ordered it and I needed it already. Tossed the pads, roller, filter and then stripped the robot down and cleaned every single piece with bleach and disinfectant. The fortunate thing is it stopped on the way back to the base station to was the pads. Anyway since that day I learned to start the robot at midnight when the animals are asleep and as are the family. If you leave it on the floor its going to want to suck it up. Be it socks, laces, cords you name it you need to make sure it's not on the floor when the robots on. Someone said that the robot uses a lot of water. I have found if you use freo mode all the time it will. It will wash and wash all the time. And probably do 800 square feet and need water and waste emptying. So if you want to use freo mode make sure its when your able to have someone empty and fill the clean and dirty buckets. Otherwise I set it to mop the entry way and kitchen every night and it does them both 3-4 times a week before needing refill and draining. The App is always growing and changing. Which is good. Very intuitive. Cleaning ability? Awesome. The App you can change the suction speed of the vacuum. You can change the downforce pressure of the mop and you can adjust how wet the mop is when in use. I empty the dust bin once a week. Maybe twice in the few weeks the animals shed the seasonal coats. The Soap i have not yet replaced in 8 months. Thing seems to dilute slowly. Robot needs me to clean it once a month. It gets hair in the wheel between the pads and on the ends of the brush hair builds up and needs clearing. My biggest complaint is the lidar sensor. What a dumb place to have no lip on it. When you lift the dust container out particles spill out on to the top of the plastic and its very static like and the dust just floats on top of the plastic and with the lidar spinning it attracts the dust and sucks it into the spinning cover. This got stuck on mine a few times and I had to strip it to clean it or I would have to ship it back to them. I see on the new one no changes have been made so I decided to cancel it for now. A lip needs to be added to make it less likely to pull in dust. But it's well over 200hrs of work. Paid for itself. I love coming into a clean home. Thank you.

The Smartest Robot Mop Available!
The Narwal Freo is just SO SMART! Full disclosure...I love robot cleaning devices. I have owned more than 2 dozen over the past 2+ decades. I endured the dumb robots of the 90s and liked them. I hate cleaning and don't want to get my hands dirty. I have been waiting for years for the "everything" robot that could really keep my house clean. I am pretty sure that my ideal still doesn't exist yet. But Freo is as close as it gets. I have 3 devices that both vacuum and mop and Freo is the only one that I just don't have to mess with. Ever. I dump out the dirty water tank and fill up the clean water tank and let Freo do it's thing. I do have to occasionally dump the dust bin. I also do have other robots that I use for heavy vacuuming. There are lots of inexpensive competent robot vacs. I have dogs and I do let the cheap vacs deal with the dog hair. I'm sure Freo could handle it though. You would just have to dump the dust bin more often. So let me share what is SUPER special about Narwal Freo. Freo mode! Apparently there is a sensor in the dirty water line that when the Freo goes back to clean it's mops, the sensor reads how dirty the water is from the last place cleaned and decides if it needs to go back. If you look at the screenshot of the app that I posted, you can see that one area was mopped 3 times while the rest was just mopped once. That is AMAZING to me. To look at the floors they weren't that much different, but the place Freo decided to mop 3x is indeed the mud room. And I'm SURE the floor (which is gray so you can't really see how dirty it is) was FILTHY. The other thing that I love about Freo is how easy it is to clean. Remember, the Freo goes back to wash it's mops often. There is a basin under the mops that fills with water, the Freo's mops spin in the water and the dirty water is sucked back up into the dirty water tank. Obviously the mops spin on something coarse that removes the dirt. That is the tray in the bottom of the base station and after the Freo cleans it's mops, there is residual dirt there. Every so often you should pull that tray out and rinse it off. Other robot mops I have you have to crawl around into the base station and wipe out scum. But Freo has it's scraper tray and a 2nd retaining tray below it. Both are easily removed and rinseable. Clever design that makes it so I don't have to work at keeping my house clean. SO SMART!! As I mentioned, I have an army of robots from over the decades. I am well used to having to search for a robot. Even those that can tell you where they went wrong in the app run out of batteries, etc. Or they eat a sock or they get stuck or lost, whatever. But the Narwal Freo has yet to do anything but go home at the end of the job. It has Lidar mapping system (which in my opinion is the best available) and it maps well, and just works. Which is saying a lot. I have a large complicated house. And this robot has yet to fail. I am a huge fan. I won't name the other brands that I have tried, but there are a lot. And this far exceeds the capabilities of all the others. My floors pass the white glove test after Freo has been working here. If I spill water on the floor and wipe it up with a white paper towel, the paper towel is still white. I have never had such clean floors.

MULTIPLE SYSTEM FAILURES with extra cost expended.
Ok when I first got it...WOW. I also ordered the automatic water exchanger, so everything was good. Then the water exchanger started a giving me a error message is couldn't drain? What Why? Contacted the company, SORRY YOU ARE OUT OF WARRANTY and you are on your own. (DIdn't want to get rid of the $1200 vac mop that worked so well before, and paid the extra $$$ for the Auto refill?) So I spent more money on another NEW water exchanger, put it in and it worked fine, like new for 6 days, then problem rose again. I unplugged the unit and let it sit for 2 weeks, HARD RESET, plugged in and I get random problem with the drainage system again, it does not flood the floor? Just says it is not working. Then the Thing went into DRYING the Mop mode and just stays on drying mode ALL THE TIME CONSTANT RUNNING. Yes there are setting on the drying system and how you want it work, fast long, super...what ever, so yes the drying the mops can take time....... but NOPE this thing just ran and ran until I unplug it. Now the Robot goes right in front of the Base, AND STOPS, right directly in front of the Base.... and comes up with error message ?cant find the base" that is 3 inches in front of it. THIS THING HAS SOFTWARE PROBLEMS, Mechanical problems, and no customer help once warranty is up. No repairs allowed, just replace....and HOPE IT WORKS BETTER. So AUTO WATER EXCHANGE is still a 50/50 on if it will work without an error message/ (AND YES THE SYSTEM is not blocked, clogged, or dirty) the Vac cant find the base when it is parked 3 inches from it, and drying system likes to run 24/7. So I plug it in ONLY when I use it, so it isn't running the Pad dryer 24/7, I have to physically nudge it back into the base every other return if not every return. to rinse pads because it cant find home 3 inches away? SO water exchanger I paid extra for fail doesn't work correctly, Drying system fail, and cant find home base....... UNOT WHAT I PAIF FOR! WONT RECCOMEND AND WOULDN'T BUY AGAIAN. ZERO COMPANY SUPPORT ON TEIR PRODUCT, Make the Sale, and forget.

Best Robot Vacuum/Mop We've Ever Owned
We've been robot vacuum users for over a decade now. We went through a couple of Roomba's and always found them extremely noisy and did only an adequate job of vacuuming. Last year we tried a different company with an all-in-one mop and vacuum, but found it didn't mop very well, vacuum didn't do as well on hard floors as it did carpets, and tended to be loud and miss corners as well. We read really good things about the Narwal Freo, so we decided to try it out. Having had the product a few weeks now we can say that we absolutely love it. It has a nice pleasant design that fits in well with our home. But what wows us the most is its cleaning ability. We are a household of 3 humans and 4 cats, and with the pet hair and the cats tracking litter outside the box, having a good cleaning device is important. The Freo does a great job of vacuuming and mopping all in one command. We run it daily and our floors have never been cleaner. The other amazing thing is how quiet it is! Our old robot vacuums we could never run while sleeping or working from home because they were far too loud. The Freo we can run anytime and it doesn't interrupt sleep or work video sessions. The app is intuitive and easy to use. Connecting it to our home wifi was a snap. We were able to map our house and designate different rooms, so sending the Freo to just do certain rooms is very easy. If there is one little nitpick is that it can only store one map at a time. If you have a multi-floor home, you'll need to do a different map if you move it to a different floor. Checking out the vendor website it says that is a feature that should be coming in the near future. With the Freo we have finally found our great cleaning device that is efficient, does a great job, is quiet, and easy to use. Even our family has remarked how much better our floors look recently. When we showed them the Freo in action, they said that now they need to get one too! And they also were impressed how quiet it was yet still did an amazing job of cleaning. Having purchased this, I can't see us ever looking at another manufacturer again. We finally have the vacuuming and mopping robot that meets all of our needs.

Great mopping and great support
I bought this robot as I wanted the combo of vacuum and mopping. The best feature of the robot is definitely the mopping which works great. The support team was very helpful - I have a 3 story house and could not figure out how to do it via the app. They sent me an email with very detail explanation and images and now I can map it property. Here are my pros and cons: Pros: 1. The mop is by far the best in market - I have both hardwood and tiles and it works well on both. 2. Very quiet - I can actually work from home and it won’t be noticeable on my meetings 3. The new addition of multi mapping allow you now to have the robot clean your entire house without moving the base. It took me some time to learn it for mopping - you need to define an area before starting the mopping - Reason is that it require to clean the pads after certain amount of time. Once I learned it - it’s quite easy - luckily my house is small. 4. Support team - They were able to answer my issue with the mapping very quickly and with all the detailed images. Cons: mostly small issues and can be easily be fixed with another firmware update. 1. App requires some improvement in my opinion - it was not clear on the instructions on how to create multi maps and only with the help of support I managed to find it. Also it was not clear the way of changing the dedicate area 2. Robot failed to bypass small obstacles - for instance I have a coffee table with base legs which are only 1 inch tall and the robot just like to play there and hover it all the time . I believe that with a small update on the sensors this can be easily fix .

Works great if you prepare your house or apartment
Hi, just been reading some other reviews on Amazon and on other websites, and I don’t understand some people complaining about this robot. I live with my wife my 19yr son and two short hair cats and one long haired chihuahua in a four and a half apartment. I don’t expect any robot at any price point to be able to be perfect. I also have a iRobot j9+ self emptying vac that CAN move around objects but I still pick up all the cat toys and dog toys, I pick up anything I can to make the robot work at its best. If people think they can just leave anything and everything on the ground, well they are wrong. The Narwal works great if you just take 10 minutes to tidy up your place. I live in an apartment that has 5 rooms, just average size nothing huge at all. One has laminate floor, one has wood herringbone floor, the bathroom has linoleum on the floor and the two bedrooms have 3inch wood planks. In the hall that connects all these rooms is covered in the usual landlord approved grey industrial carpet. The Narwal is better at mapping with the laser lidar, it’s smoother going around the apartment, quieter, does NOT bang into anything, it slows up just before and kisses the wall and turns around and keeps on going. My iRobot j9+ has a little better suction but is louder and really bangs into into stuff. I also make sure that I keep the robots in good working order. Every third or fourth run I empty the dust bins on both, wipe down the robots with just a slightly moist micro fibre cloth. I take out the rollers and pull the hair off the ends and and wipe down the sensors, lastly I blow them clean with a rechargeable air gun. I get the Narwal to vacuum first then mop the floors in all my rooms. Then I take out the dirty water container to see how dirty the water is, and I did not think my floors were that dirty. I run the iRobot every second day on just the carpet, and the dust bin is full of cat and dog hair and grey dust, it’s crazy. So please don’t think you can just set them up and forget about them. I hope this helps and makes sense, all these robots are good, you just have to do some upkeep. Thanks

Over priced and error codes that don't solve the issues
My robot vacuum system, which originally cost over $1400, has now completely stopped working. Despite diligently replacing all roller brushes and mop heads, and keeping the unit clean and free of debris, the error codes are unhelpful. When I contacted customer service, I was offered a refurbished replacement for an additional $192. Given the original price, and the unit's short lifespan, this cost feels excessive; I could have nearly bought a new system every year for the price I paid for this one. I am extremely dissatisfied with this situation. In contrast to my other robot vacuum (yes, I own another), the "Narwhal" unit was only run twice a week. Furthermore, it has been a hassle to constantly empty the sweeper bin, and the mop heads are only mediocre in performance. The current resolution only results in an increased cost for a used unit, with no guarantee that it will even be functional. This has been a significant waste of time, and I will absolutely not recommend this product to anyone.

Seriously, changed my life!
What I love: - The vacuum dust bin does not *require* a dust collection bag. The bag is optional. I'm cheap and I do not use a dust bin bag. - The dust bin can be washed out occasionally. I empty the dust bin after each use or at least every other use. When it needs it, I wash the bin and let it dry thoroughly! DO NOT wash the filter. I bang the dust off the filter to clean it and I have replaced the filter once in six months. - The water tank holds enough to mop the whole house (approx. 1000 sq ft). The kitchen and dining area gets vacuumed and mopped daily - now that never happened before Narwal arrived! Rooms with less traffic are cleaned bi-weekly. I discard dirty water after each mopping. I rinse the dirty water collection tank, fill the clean water tank and it's ready to go again. Simple and easy to do. - While I DO use the cleaning solution that came with the machine, it is not *required* for the machine to function. That was important to me and I contacted the manufacturer to be sure of that before my purchase. I have had the machine for six months and still have not used all the cleaning solution so I'm impressed. - Once the house is mapped, I can direct the machine to clean any room I please - any time I please by selecting the room, the function (vacuum and/or mop) all from my iPhone. That is luxury! - especially because I can do this from work on afternoon coffee break or while I reclining in my easy chair at the end of the day! - The cleaning tray, where the mops are washed and dried automatically, removes from the dock for a good rinse. Bi-monthly, I remove the water tanks and the vacuum robot before lifting the docking station up on a chair or counter so I can give everything a good wipe. That is the least I can do for a machine that has changed my life in such a positive way!! Besides, it was expensive and I want it to last and long, long time! Cons: It is pricey. I would like to have purchased the top-of-the-line models but the budget did not allow for it. Even at that price, if the machine died tomorrow, I would replace it immediately. Note: My daughter owns a Narwal vac with a *conical brush* which is a dream for pet owners!
