Nice looking detector, not too big or noticeable either. Dead loud too!
Seems to work fine when we try the test button, the green light flickers to show it's active so can only assume it's all good and everything is working as it should do. Apart from attempting a bit of carbon monoxide poisoning to make sure it goes off when it should I'll have to trust the sensor is working! Similar to a fire alarm really I guess - you have to put trust in the product that the sensors are working without setting your house on fire to try it, and that the test button isn't just making sure the bleeper is working and batteries have some life left. All in All, nice product, looks good, LOUD beeper, not too large so you can pop it near your log burner (or whatever you think might poison you) without ruining the look too much, and certainly worth having in your home. So FIVE big ones for this.

A reliable little unit.
I bought this some time ago. It lives in my hall near my boiler. It gives peace of mind. It stands by itself so no installation problem at all. It flashes regularly - I'm deaf so I should have a specialist one so probably il explore that at some stage. If you have no hearing problems you will be happy with this little unit.

Nice little unit
Its a bit difficult to be damning about a unit that is meant to be entry level, so I will leave off comments like, wouldn't it be good if it did this or that.... It does what it says it does on the box - a simple unit designed to detect carbon monoxide.Well this does that and for the price provides great peace of mind. I bought it for my trailer tent that has a gas fridge and cooker inside the trailer infrastructure. It's nice and compact and battery life isnt a problem. It does have a little led lit that flashes each now and again, to let you know it's on and working. Well, that does the job but its also why I give is only four stars and not five... The flashing led (about once every 90 secs) keeps catching my eye and giving me a moments panic. I'd rather have some. Other sort of confidence test.I realise I'm being picky but otherwise the product is great.

Excellent value for money
I bought one of these for our kitchen as this is where our boiler is and we also have gas cooking hobs.I was very impressed with the quality of this CO detector and alarm. It is made by a reputable company and is of excellent build quality. The instuctions are clear and comprehensive and tell you the best place to mount it. I also liked the fact that the instructions explained how to test that the actual CO detector works as well as the warning siren, which gave me complete peace of mind that I can rely on this to tell me if dangerous levels of CO are ever present. The instructions recommend that one of these is placed at least in every room that has a combustion appliance, but I have ordered another one for our upstairs landing just to be on the safe side. The fact that these are being sold for £10 more in B&Q and Wickes makes this an even better buy on here.

Fire Angel, what can go wrong?
What can I say? It's small, light, can be moved around to a place that suits you, or fitted to the wall. The fire brigade came around to fit some new smoke alarms and I asked them how close would this need to be to the boiler? He said it was one of the best out there, and can be in the next room, it doesn't need to be right next to it.Why did I buy it? Peace of mind! Small price to pay when I have 3 children in the house. Always one of those worrying things if you think you smell gas, and don't have one of these alarms! Fire angel is a big name in these lines of products, so you can't go wrong.Does it work? Thankfully I haven't had to rely on it yet, but there is a small LED that shows it's still on, and a test button that you can test every week.Let's face it, every house should have one of these along with smoke alarms. Should be compulsory for rental properties!

Easy to use
This is very easy to set up - insert batteries and it's working. Instructions are easy to understand. I bought this because it is free standing and can sit close to my fire. it is a sturdy design, small and unobtrusive so it does not look out of place on a shelf. Can also be wall mounted. Has a small green light that flashes once a minute to show it is working but again this is not intrusive. Great value for the money would happily recommend.

Works well
Works well to give piece of mind for detecting if there is a carbon monoxide leak.

reasonably priced and seems fine
I bought this product as we have a wood-burning stove and it was suggested to me that it was advisable to have a carbon monoxide detector. This one was reasonably priced and recommended, and it seems fine. The instructions included how to test for carbon monoxide detection but it seemed a lot of hassle and I decided not to bother. So I can't confirm that it detects but I have no reason to doubt it and it's a lot better than not having anything. It gives a good degree of peace of mind.

Oui, mais! .....
