Winsor & Newton Drawing Ink Bottle - Gold, 14 ml (Pack of 1)

Absolutely brilliant ink, lovely flow to the ink and it dries pretty quickly. Definitely one of the best inks I’ve ever used. I purchased the nut brown lovely colour really fits the vintage style look I was going for. Great value for money I’ll definitely be adding more colours it’s brilliant.

Been learning how to ink lately and drawing comic characters and had been using a disappointing Chinese ink that was very patchy and showed the paper through. This is SOLID, black as night and gives a lovely finish. It does have a slight texture and I haven’t tested it’s waterproof capability yet but for using with a brush, it is absolutely smooth, beautiful and inky black. Am so pleased with the outcome of my drawings. Used with some synthetic watercolour brushes and it went quite far easily without constant re-dipping. Highly recommend. Winsor & Newton never lets me down.

Does what I wanted it for

Good deep colour, needs to dry fully (and then some more ) before applying watercolour over it. Flows well. Smaller bottle size than expected but will last me a quite a while.

Great ink

First time buying inks. I purchased for watercolour drawing purposes. This is Indian ink so will dry waterproof for line drawings. Very pleased with the consistency and colour. Its been highly recommended to me from other artists. The glass bottle is small and cute, though I am sure will last a while.

Great drawing ink. I've been using this a lot recently, I'm in an ink sketching mood. The little bottle is perfect for me as I usually work in a small space or outside, and don't need anything bulkier. It's a good strong black. I'm using a simple dip pen, and so far it's exactly what I wanted. I can get a variety of marks, and it's lasting well. It dries very black and clear. I haven't used it for writing other than a brief description of each sketch. Happy to recommend.

My hobby is card making. I wanted some gold splatter ink. This product is absolutely lovely, the shimmer is amazing, very fast drying, perfect for what I want it for.

I use it for my watercoloring, and it is brilliant. Since the ink is already a bit "wet" due to the thin liquidey feel, it goes of the brush without any trouble. Normally I would need to wet my pans with a lot of water to get the same effect. This only takes 1 dip and you're good to go. To use it this way, I simply shake the bottle, dip a wet brush in it and then hard-shake the brush over my paintings with the gold ink on the brush. The ink adds a beautiful effect in the finished painting, adding a magical and lively effect to each one. It splatters everywhere if you're not careful though, so make sure to protect your surroundings before using this method 😉

Tiefes, deckendes Schwarz, trocknet schnell, sieht aus wie mit einem Edding geschrieben. Ich nutze die Tinte mit einem Glaspinsel, und es ist so eine schöne sattschwarze Farbe!

J'édite mon commentaire car un peu plus d'un an après, quand je dessine avec, l'encre a perdu sa belle pigmentation vert pomme et a tourné au turquoise :( . J'ai eu beau secouer le flacon, cela ne donne plus de vert pomme. Je trouve ça anormal, j'ai d'autres encres qui ne changent pas de couleur comme ça, même après un an. C'est vraiment dommage, car c'était un beau vert pomme. Je montre le changement de teinte sur la photo où je porte le flacon, on voit que ce n'est plus vert à l'intérieur mais bleu, alors que c'est bien le même flacon, un an après. Les autres photos datent du jour où j'ai reçu la commande, en mai 2024. Commentaire d'origine : J'adore le petit flacon qui fait fin et raffiné, vraiment classe, encore plus beau en vrai. L'encre est un joli vert pomme, je le pensais un peu plus lumineux, je trouve qu'il ne correspond pas trop à la couleur de l'étiquette. Je suis un peu intriguée cependant par la texture de cette encre à dessiner, qui semble un peu lisse, une fois sur le papier et manquer de profondeur. Ce qui est curieux aussi, c'est qu'elle est dépeinte comme une encre aquarelle,mais une fois sèche, je n'arrive pas pour ma part à la réactiver à l'eau. On dirait qu'elle est permanente. Mais le flacon est vraiment joli, et on prends plaisir à l'avoir sur son bureau.
