Wow, this actually works. Pulled a thorn out of my E scooter tire and as a result tyre kept deflating. I asked Google AI best solution and it recommended this… I followed the instructions which were extremely simple and as a result my tire is now fully inflated and holding the PSI Would highly recommend

A puncture (or two!) can really spoil a nice day out or commute home on the bike so I finally got around to getting this. Contrary to what another reviewer says this DOES work with Presta bicycle valves but they need to be removable - for the record I am currently using Continental Cross tubes and they do have this feature. You can buy a valve removal tool with spare valves (recommended as it is small enough to go into your bike bag) for little money on here, or you can just use small pliers. If unsure, you can check YouTube for videos on how to get the liquid into your tubes. You need to deflate the tube and then remove your valve first. I used the cable-tie method which narrows the neck of the plastic tube provided and was able to get a tight fit ok ok. Pour the liquid in with the valve at 6pm and then turn your wheel so it is at 12pm and wait for it to drain any excess before removing it to avoid a gloopy mess. Replace the valve, pump up and spin the wheel to distribute the Slime. Each bottle should be enough for two tubes. Being honest I messed up my first attempt but lesson learnt and always do it outside is my advice. So far so good, no new punctures even in autumnal off-road riding though I do check my tyres regularly for the tell-tale green blobs. It's good to know that the chances of my day out being ruined are reduced thanks to this and I can ride with more confidence.

Brought for son’s pit bike thought we could use half of the bottle but unfortunately had to use the full bottle as it didn’t do anything on the half bottle so it needed the full bottle before the puncture was repaired

I cycle lots - mostly on paths, trails and rougher surfaces (as well as some roads) - I consider that punctures are inevitable; some time ago, I read an article about Slime Smart Tubes and was intrigued. I now have slime-filled tubes on two other bikes and find these to be excellent. This purchase was made because of my exceptional experience with the others: no punctures for 3 years over (many, many) hundreds of miles unforgiving terrain! Speed freaks will tell you that slime-filled tubes add weight to your bike; and they do, but this is a small price to pay for puncture protection (in my view). I bought this pack as a DIY option for the tubes on a new commuter folding bike, hoping that I would get the same level of puncture protection without having to buy the tubes as well (cheaper and more environmentally friendly)! Slime Smart Tubes tubes function best as protection against annoying pin-prick punctures (small thorns etc.) they do not guard against large gashes or pinch-flats, but they are not meant to. The 'slime' is a green liquid that coats the inner of the tube as you ride; on exposure to the air it hardens to a plug that seals the gap. I was a little worried that during the installation process, I would end up with green slime spraying everywhere but this was not the case and filling the tubes was very easy. One 237ml bottle will treat two tubes up to 29" so using the same amount of slime on two 20" tubes probably amounts to overkill. Anyhoo, the product is easy to use - deflate the tyres, remove the valves using the tool provided with the bottle, attach a plastic hose to the bottle and the valve on your tube and squeeze the bottle. Provided you made an a tight seal, the slime will go in the tube, not on the floor! A top tip is to have the vale positioned anywhere but at the 6 o'clock position (the higher the better). Half the bottle contents goes in each tube. Replace the valves and inflate - it really is that easy! When you ride, the slime will be distributed inside the tube. So far (and touching wood) I have been puncture free on my other bikes since adding slime tubes - I see no reason why the DIY version of the product should be any different. Note that because the Slime Smart Tubes are under pressure, when topping-up air (which they require rarely) some slime will spray from the valve - this can be reduced by rotating the wheel so that the valve is at the top and leaving it for 10 minutes to allow the slime to settle at the bottom of the tube. This method is also useful if you want to deflate the tube to replace a worn tyre. Highly recommended.

Picture the scene of frustration, two days, two punctures. Both times I had repaired or replaced the inner tube, then the next day on the way to work, that new inner tube punctures as well. I had had enough of punctures, and I had heard of slime, but been a little sceptical. This was the final straw, as a quick fix, I purchased some magic green slime from my local dealer (sounds dodgier than it is). Applying the slime to a schrader (car type) valve is incredibly easy. The plastic lid is used to unscrew the inside of the valve, the tube is connected, and half a bottle squeezed in. A little messy if you're not careful, but much less taxing than changing a tube. I gave the tyre a few quick spins, then inflated it. Almost miraculously, the puncture was repaired. I was a convert to the mystical healing powers of slime. "I must go and review this with 5 stars on Amazon", I thought. But of course, one must give the product a full and fair trial first... ;) A couple of weeks later the other tyre also punctured, so I used the slime in that tyre and it fixed it immediately. Amazing. I didn't notice any difference in the feel of the bike, so everything was happy. For a couple of months all was good, but then the limitations began to show. Firstly, I experienced a puncture in the middle of the ride. I heard the tell-tale hiss of air, I cycled on, hoping that the slime would fix it. After a little way I stopped to see a small amount of green goo spurting out of the tyre. It hadn't worked yet, but I kept cycling and within a short period of time it seemed to be ok. I made it to work and home again later that day, albeit with a bit of a reduced pressure. However, that night I tried to pump the tyre up to my usual pressure of 80psi, and the repair failed :( the tube could no longer keep up the pressure. I thought this must have been some huge puncture of the type rarely seen, but actually when I changed the tube, was probably notably less than 2mm on its longest length (the size it claims to protect up to). However, I did notice on the tyre a significant number (maybe 4-6) smaller holes that would easily have been slow leaks, or even fast ones, were it not for the green stuff. So the slime does work, but not as well as you might like. I would hope that the 'technology' will develop over the future such that this is an even better solution. It definitely has its uses as a form of protection that will make it much more likely that you will get where you need to go on time, but the higher the pressure of your tyre, the smaller the hole it will protect you from. In hindsight, I should just have switched to more puncture resistant tyres sooner. I have just switched to Schwalbe Marathon Plus , which have very good reviews in terms of the many years various cyclists have gone without punctures, and I suspect that this will be the more effective solution in the long run. Most of my punctures seemed to come from small stones getting embedded in the tyres, and I can't imagine the 'smartguard' on these tyres being perceptible to such things. It's a case of prevention vs cure, and it's also perfectly acceptable to use both better tyres and slime.

I don't want to spoil the party and so wished this stuff does what it says, but in my experience it just doesn't. Perhaps it is more ideally suited to bicycle tyres, but I have used it, as recommended by everyone, on the inner tubes of my M365 Pro electric scooter (8.5" wheels) over the course of my ownership of the scooter for the past 3 or so years. In that time, I have had 3 punctures on the front and back wheels, caused by very sharp thorns (hawthorn most likely) passing through the middle of the tread and straight into the inner tube behind. On each occasion the tube has been filled with the correct amount of Slime and following the instructions to the letter. The punctures occurred within 3 - 9 months of the tube being fitted, so well within the manufacturer 'guarantee'. These punctures are not gaping great slashes made by a shard of glass but pretty much tiny circular holes, so well within what this product's spec is supposed to be capable of preventing. Every time, I am scooting along and I hear the rhythmic death puff of a tyre deflating and there to back it up as evidence is the spewing of runny liquid green slime from around the valve and eventually the tyre rim where it has clearly escaped through the puncture hole with no problem and no effect on controlling the air release. This is the same series of events each time and yet I keep following the instructions believing that next time, maybe it will actually work! In fact what happens is the slime makes a mess of the tyre inside and out, the wheel rim, gunges up the valve of the inner tube and generally means I have to replace the tube. Not great. As I say, maybe this product is not meant to work on small tyres but I can't really believe that as the tyre pressure is similar to a bike's, the outer tyres themselves seem thicker and more robust than most bike tyres and the materials involved are all the same. Sorry, but I cannot recommend this product.

Wat een snelle reparatie van de band! Klusje van niets. Zonder enig bijkomend gereedschap opgelost. Wel een fietspomp nodig! Een aanrader! De fles was genoeg voor de twee 12" banden van mijn elektrische stepje. Heb dus gelijk ook de andere band voorzien van dit spul in de hoop voorlopig geen lekke banden meer te krijgen.

If I'm buying a bicycle or anything that has tires on it I buy slime for everything. If you have a tube and something. I put 8 oz of slime in every tube I have. I rotated three or four 10 times. Make sure it gets the entire inner tube.
