I honestly couldn’t be happier with this printer. Setup was simple — I had it out of the box, connected to Wi-Fi, and printing within about 10 minutes. No complicated drivers or endless menus, just a straightforward process. It also connected fine with both my laptop and my phone, which is a big plus for me. The print quality is where it really shines. Text is crisp and professional, and photos or posters come out looking like they’ve been done at a print shop. Colours are rich and vibrant without looking over-saturated, and detail is sharp. I’ve been using it for larger A3 prints as well as normal documents, and it handles both brilliantly. The A3 capability was one of the reasons I bought it, and it really makes a difference if you’re working on projects that need a bigger canvas. I also like that the printer itself isn’t massive. For something that can handle big prints, it’s actually quite compact and doesn’t dominate my desk. Noise levels are reasonable too — you can hear it working, but it’s not overly loud or distracting. The only slight downside is the ink cost, which isn’t the cheapest. That said, it uses separate cartridges for each colour, so you only replace what you run out of. For the kind of quality it produces, I think it’s fair value. All in all, this has been a fantastic buy. It’s easy to set up, easy to use, and the results are genuinely impressive. If you’re looking for a printer that can handle both everyday tasks and high-quality photo or poster printing (especially in A3), I’d definitely recommend this one. I've already used it for some projects as you can see in the pictures and the quality is incredible.

I've had this printer for about 9 months now, and I am absolutely delighted with it. If you print A3 photos, then you are going to whizz through inks pretty quickly, but third-party inks are both cheap and reliable. (I use these and have been very happy with them. 25 XL ( 5 Sets) Colour Direct Compatible Ink Cartridges Replacement For Canon CLI-551XL/ PGI-550XL - Pixma MG5450 MG5550 MG5650 MG6350 MG6450 MG6650 MX725 MX925 MX725 MG7150 iP7250 Printers ) The only issue I have with the printer is that borderless photo prints require special paper, or the paper does not feed through and the printer jams, but that is more to do with me being a skinflint and not buying high quality paper than a limitation of the printer. Print quality is good, but not exceptionally good. It's as good as you'd expect from an inkljet printer, and benefits from high quality photo paper for photographs. Of particular praise is the speed of text printing, it really is surprisingly quick and pleasingly quiet. Obviously it's a fairly large printer, being A3, but it's no bigger than it needs to be, and the front and rear paper guides fold out and away quickly and neatly. I haven't used the wireless printing function of the printer, I've just used a LAN cable, so I can't comment on wireless set-up. Changing ink is quick and easy. The printer keeps you reasonably well informed of in levels, and tells you when an ink is low, and when it needs changing. Changing ink cartridges is quick and easy, simply lift the front panel, wait for the ink rack to be presented to you, the inks are all colour coded and the ink that needs changing will have a flashing LED on it. Remove the old cartridge, drop it carefully into the bin, peel the plastic off the new one and click it into place. Very quick and simple. It is likely worth re-aligning the heads after cartridge changes, but that too is a simple task. I've got no gripes at all with this printer, I particularly love how cheap it is to run with 3rd-party inks. If you want the very last work in print quality, you might need to buy some fancy paper, but laminated poster prints look great. Highly recommended!

The print quality from this printer is very good once it’s working, especially for larger prints. Colours look sharp and the overall output is impressive. However, I found the setup quite frustrating. Trying to install and connect it wirelessly was nearly impossible for me and I eventually had to buy a cable just to get it printing. The software side was also a bit confusing, and finding a program that worked easily for printing (like using Google Docs) took some trial and error. Once everything was finally set up properly the printer worked well and the print quality is great, but the setup process could definitely be simpler.

To say this printer is aimed at general purpose personal / small business users, and not specifically as a photo quality jobbie, the prints you can get from it are very impressive indeed. Comparing the print quality to my last photo printer (Canon Pro 9000), which actually required 8 ink cartridges, this thing produces very acceptable photo prints, both glossy and matte, using only 5 (two of which are black!). I would agree with some reviewers that the prints come out a tad dark, and I think actually benefit from a slight brightness and saturation increase, which can be done in the printer driver settings, although such things are a matter of personal taste. I've also printed out a couple of dozen standard black & white PDF legal documents, on plain 80 gsm paper, and the results here are actually far better than the Pro 9000 I can't comment on the problems some buyers have had connecting to wifi, as I just plugged in my old usb lead, loaded the drivers, and everything worked first time. The biggest drawback for most people, I think, would probably be the ridiculous cost of Canon's own ink cartridges. Luckily there are plenty of suppliers of 3rd party replacement cartridges at a fraction of Canon's exorbitant prices. All in all, I'm very pleased with my purchase, despite it's limitations, and it has saved me having to pay 3 or 4 times as much for a replacement dedicated A3 photo printer.

Are you for real??!! The printer comes with a 2 pin non British plug! Ffs! This printer is as useful as window wipers on a submarine. Edit- I've spent 4 hours Trying to connect it wireless! I have loads of gadgets and never had this problem. After factory reseting my router etc I managed to print via my laptop. After 6 hours - still can't print via my tablet or phone. Don't bother with this printer or Canon products in general. Absolute joke. Just realised you CANT scan with it either. Don't waste your money on this garbage. Update- 14.08.24- I've went and bought an HP office jet pro 9730e. This is miles better and not much dearer. Double sided prints and print from your phone and tablet is a breeze. Canon can go and take a flying you know what....

I purchased this inkjet for doing A3 posters for events and for printing home photographs, not for text documents. First Impression First impressions are good. The printer is well packaged, it feels solid enough but is bigger than expected. The build quality looks ok to me. Unpack and Setup Do not expect much documentation on how to setup the printer. The foldout instructions were a little misleading - for example you can not install the inks until after you turn it on due to the location of the printer head - but actually it wasn't that hard. I setup over WIFI following onscreen instructions, which again needed re-reading several times to work out what was actually needed. All in all it took about 15 mins to get the printer ready for its first photo. Photo Image Quality This is what its all about. I printed out a series of sample pictures A4 borderless on the both the Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy II and the everyday Canon GP501 Glossy photo paper. The pictures included a black and white portrait, colour portrait, a beach landscape and a clip art style poster. Every single picture absolutely blew my mind. The quality if amazing. Its not premium photo lab quality, but it beat the last round of internet mail order photos from Tesco. Its good enough for us to use in the photo frames around the house, and i consider myself picky. The print speed was pretty good also. It was very hard to see a difference between the everyday and the premium glossy paper, but there was a slight difference. Text Image Quality Its very acceptable, for an ink jet. I have a big office laser printer for text and you can easily see the difference, so this doesn't bother me at all. Overall I would recommend this printer without hesitation. A note also on the consumables. For those wondering, the ink cartridges that came with the printer seem reasonable full to me. I have done about 10 full A4 pictures and used maybe 5% of the ink. I have no idea how this compares to the full retail versions.

I bought this to replace an ancient HP A3 printer. The installation was faultless. It was extremely easy using the installation CD, despite the opinion of some other reviewers. I can't comment on the photo output, as I use mine for printing large-print church notices, but the document output is excellent. It prints graphics clearly, so I have no reason to expect less from the photo output. Manual duplex printing is handled with ease, and the sheet feeder does not jam or feed double sheets. I'm very impressed with the ease of set-up, build quality and print output. For the low price, I don't think I could have found a better printer! I have used it for a few weeks now, and it's made my weekly print job much easier and quicker. Highly recommended!

This is great. I wanted a basic printer that I could print card on and this is perfect. Didn’t take long to set up and will be perfect for my card making hobby.

Cette imprimante est l'une des meilleures du marché qualité/prix. Ce n'est pas une machine pour imprimer 500 par semaine, sa fonction c'est d'imprimer des photos, des reproductions d'art etc. Sa qualité d'impression est vraiment excellente. Bon d'accord elle bouffe beaucoup d'encre mais faut savoir ce qu'on veut. Le Wifi est compliqué à installer mais il fonctionne, il faut appuyer sur le 2eme bouton en partant du haut pendant 5s, puis le symbole wifi de l'imprimante se met a clignoter et il faut ensuite appuyer 5s sur le bouton "WPS" de votre box internet pour que l'imprimante se connecte directement dessus. C'est super simple mais faut le savoir ! Bon perso je préfère le câble USB car c'est une imprimante de professionnel, pas un jouet pour imprimer depuis son téléphone.... Je recommande les yeux fermés

Ein toller A3-Drucker, der auch gerne für 10x15cm Ausdrucke verwendet wird. Dem Preis entsprechend günstiges Erscheinungsbild, was dem Druck aber keinen Abbruch tut. Die Klavierlackoptik, die schnell durch Staub und Fingerabdrücke leidet, führt zu einem Microfasertuch in Griffweite. Ich wollte explizit einen A3-Farbdrucker, den ich mit diesem Modell gefunden habe. Der Pro-100S wäre definitiv besser gewesen, war mir aber sowohl in der Anschaffung wie auch bei der Tinte (pro Patrone günstiger, dafür mehr Patronen) zu teuer, vom Pro-1 oder dem "Zwischenmodell" Pro-10 ganz zu schweigen. Da ich pro Monat nur ca. 1-3 A3- und viele kleine A6-Fotos drucke, hätte sich ein Drucker der Pro-Serie oder auch vergleichbare von Epson nicht gelohnt. Normale Text-Drucke werde ich mit diesem Drucker keine machen, denn dafür habe ich einen einfachen S/W-Laser von Brother, der seit ca. 10 Jahren mit der nun zweiten Toner-Kartusche druckt. Gedruckt wird aus Lightroom mit kalibrierten Monitoren (Spyder 5 Pro) Die Ausdrucke des iX6850 selbst sind trotzdem nicht immer farbtreu (leichter Rotstich), lassen sich über über einen Testdruck, auf dem ein Motiv mehrfach mit verschiedenen Korrekturwerten ausgedruckt wird, einstellen. Vermutlich würde ein ICC-Profil eines Kalibrierungsdienstes Abhilfe schaffen. Das beste Ergebnis habe ich bisher erreicht, indem ich in Lightroom als Farb-Profil "Von Drucker verwaltet" verwendete. Die Druckkosten sind Tintenstrahler-üblich entsprechend hoch. Mit den normalen 7ml-Patronen, die es im vierer-Pack für ca. 32€ gibt (CMYK, jedoch ohne Pigment-Schwarz), komme ich 100 A6 (also 10x15cm) Fotodrucke weit (ca. 0,32€/Druck). Das kann man umrechnen und landet bei guten 12 A3-Fotodrucken (ca. 2,60€/Druck) oder 25 A4-Fotodrucken (ca. 1,30€/Druck) pro Pack entspricht. Das Pigment-Schwarz hält hingegen sehr lange, wird aber auch für den Fotodruck verwendet. Wie lange es genau hält, ergänze ich, sobald die Pigment-Tinte leer ist. Derzeit zeigt der Druckertreiber das Pigment-Schwarz noch mit über 50% an, obwohl schon über 230 A6-Drucke (A4-Drucke wurden vierfach, A3-Ausdrucke entsprechend 8fach gezählt) gedruckt wurden. Trotz des Value-Packs mit 4 Farben und jeweils 7ml Inhalt empfehle ich die XL-Tanks mit 11ml. Diese kosten in einschlägigen Elektrofachmärkten meist knapp 18€ (UVP), hier bei Amazon knapp 14€ und mit etwas Glück bekommt man XL-Patronen auch mal für knapp 11€. Da sie normalerweise lange hält (insbesondere gelbe Tinte scheint nach Recherche im Internet frühestens nach zwei Jahren zu gelieren), kann man auch einmal ein paar Patronen einer Farbe auf Vorrat kaufen. Am schnellsten werden die Farbpatronen Gelb, Magenta und Cyan leer, das normale Schwarz hält sich etwas länger und das Pigment-Schwarz wie erwähnt sehr lange. Von den Kosten her kann es für die meisten günstiger sein, Fotos bei z.B. Aldi Foto zu bestellen, gerade für 10x15cm Fotos sind solche Anbieter unschlagbar günstig. Für mich war ein Fotodrucker wichtig, um gute Fotos, die man auf einer Foto-Tour gemacht hat, auch gleich als hochwertigen Ausdruck rahmen und aufhängen zu können. Das verleiht Fotos einfach mehr Gewicht - ist aber eine rein persönliche Bemerkung. Spülvorgänge des Druckers kann man sich in gewissen Grenzen sparen, sofern man den Drucker unmittelbar bevor man druckt erst einschaltet. Ist er per LAN angeschlossen, schaltet er sich von selbst ein, sobald ein Druckauftrag vorliegt. Denn ca. eine Minute, nachdem der Drucker eingeschaltet wurde, aber keinen Auftrag erhält, beginnt er mit einem Reinigungsvorgang. Das passiert auch, wenn man unterhalb einer Minute beginnt zu drucken, aber in diesem Fall eben nicht immer. Ob das deutlich Tinte spart, kann ich nicht sagen, fand es aber erwähnenswert. Der Drucker möchte regelmäßig benutzt werden, wobei ein 10x15 Ausdruck pro Woche ausreichen dürfte. Dabei sollten alle Farben verwendet werden, also nicht nur einen s/w-Text drucken. Ausgeschaltet sollte er am Stromnetz verbleiben, da er sonst nach dem Einschalten deutlich länger spült. Eingetrocknete Düsen sind nach wie vor der frühe Tod eines Tintenstrahlers. Apropos Vorrat: meckert der Drucker, dass eine Patrone "fast aufgebraucht" ist, kann man mindestens noch 9 A6-Ausdrucke damit anfertigen. In einem solchen Fall sollte man die Patrone erst wechseln, wenn der Drucker zum Wechseln auffordert oder bevor man einen A3/A3+ Ausdruck auf teurem Papier (z.B. Hahnemühle) macht. Vor günstigem Papier möchte ich warnen: wegen 4,5 Sternen habe ich Tintino-Fotopapier gekauft, das nicht einmal ansatzweise vergleichbar mit dem Canon-Papier war: streifig mit blassen, verfälschten Farben also kurzum: absolut inakzeptabel. Ob man die Schuld hierfür bei dem Papierhersteller oder bei Canon suchen mag, lasse ich offen. Ich habe jedoch nicht die Zeit oder das Bedürfnis, erst zig Testdrucke mit Fremdtinte auf Fremdpapier zu machen, bevor ich dann die eine, perfekte und günstige Kombination gefunden habe. Fakt ist aber: wer sich einen Tintenstrahler kauft, weiß vorher um die Folgekosten, die alles andere als gering sind. Fremdtinte und -Papier gibt es hier verlockend günstig, aber unterm Strich dürfte ein günstiger Farblaser von z.B. Brother mit Dritthersteller-Toner eine bessere Alternative sein - wenn man eben keine farbechten Fotodrucke machen möchte. Da ich die Kosten vorher kannte und die Qualität mit Original-Tinte auf Canon-Papier (SG-201 wie auch PP-501) trotz der nicht immer perfekten Farbwiedergabe mich überzeugt hat, kann ich den Drucker bei dem günstigen Anschaffungspreis in meinem Fall von 184€ absolut empfehlen. Tipp: wer den Drucker gleich per LAN (und nicht WLAN) verwenden möchte: Drucker einschalten, danach die Alarm-Taste (orangene Taste) solange gedrückt lassen, bis die weiße Taste 11x (!) geblinkt hat. Dann ist LAN aktiv. Legt man ein A4-Papier ein und drückt die Alarm-Taste, bis die 6x geblinkt hat, wird eine Info-Seite mit Netzwerk-Infos ausgedruckt. Diese Info bekommt man erst bei der Treiber-Installation, daher fand ich sie hier erwähnenswert.

Esta es mi segunda impresora CANON y la verdad es que no me ha decepcionada para nada, imprime con una calidad increíble y en A3!, a diferencia de la otra que tenía que era más pequeña esta tiene bandeja para recoger las hojas impresas y que no se caigan y se pliega sin problema una vez que la dejes de usar, está muy bien pensada y diseñada, encuentras cartuchos compatibles que aunque no son la misma calidad pro, funcionan de maravilla que no te de pereza que sean varios cartuchos porque son fáciles de instalar, es rápida, silenciosa... por poner algún pero, es que aún no he conseguido entender bien como conectarla con wifi porque pienso que es un poco lioso y te tienes que buscar un poco la vida por internet. Si buscas una impresora 3D todoterreno para imprimir sobre adhesivos, carteles, fotos...hacer regalos personalizados... no te lo pienses, la marca ya es sinónimo de calidad y es una máquina que te va a durar muchos años si la cuidas bien.
