It’s exactly as advertised. Solid, durable, and perfect for full-contact training. My only gripe is the fake decorative characters on the blade. It wouldn’t have been difficult to use actual meaningful ones, but I knew this going in. (They can be filed off easily if it bothers you.) As with all my training tools, I customised the handle in my usual way: lashing flax twine tightly into a ball where my palm rests, then wrapping it in cloth hockey tape. This gives a secure, responsive grip—essential for fluid rotational movements in Filipino styles. The standard grip is quite small for my hands, and it isn't exactly a nice feeling on the hands. (my glove size is large.)
