Why isn't the maximum distance it opens to in the product description ? It's the most important aspect of it!

Hi there, Stanley felt it important enough that it has printed the following opening size info on back of packet. 300mm tool opens to 40mm 250mm to 35mm 200mm to 30mm &150mm (this item) opens to 26mm I hope this helps.

No sorry this will not open that wide the Stanley 090950 is the biggest at 39mm

No !!! This is precisely what I bought it for but the mouth of the spanner is too narrow . Also , the item that I received is so poorly made that it would not be able to unscrew a tightly fitting valve even if the spanner mouth was wide enough . Read other reviews .
