Is it suitable to cook rice in it? Will it go through the holes?

we never did use it for rice, (it went in the bin) but we used it for veg. and found it not very good at all. The 3 section unit was hard to get the veg. out of after cooking and cleaning wasn't the best either.

I can use mine with the lid on the saucepan. It will depend how tall your saucepan is I guess.
