Checking the doneness of your food has never been so easy as it is with the Saber EZ Temp Digital Thermometer. When you power on the thermometer, set the doneness level and meat type so you know exactly when your steak, chicken or leg of lamb is ready to pull off the grill. The thermometer features seven meat types to include beef, veal, lamb, pork, poultry, turkey, burger and a ¥user set.' When choosing beef, veal or lamb, there are three doneness levels to choose from, including medium-rare, medium and well-done. When using USER mode, you set the desired temperature. The thermometer has an audible alert when the meat has reached the proper doneness level. The backlit LCD screen is easy-to-read and shows the current and target temperature readouts. The current temperature readout is fast and accurate; within 5 seconds, you'll know how hot, or cold, your food is. The stainless steel probe adjusts 180 degrees for multiple measuring positions. When you're done checking the internal temperature of your food, let the probe cool, wipe it with a damp cloth, let it dry and fold it into the handle for easy storage. The Saber digital grill thermometer has seven languages to choose from- English (EN), German (DE), French (FR), Italian (IT), Spanish (ES), Swedish (SW) and Dutch (DU). You can also choose to have the temperature displayed as Celsius or Fahrenheit. Handle measures 6.67Ó long. Stainless steel probe measures 5.3Ó long. Uses two AAA batteries, which are included with the thermometer.

Good quality and well made
Good quality and well made; I like the probe that folds under the body of the handle when not in use; however there are many detents that will allow you to set the probe at any angle; the screen is easy to read and is backlit with a red light; the light will stay on for a number of seconds and automatically go out but you can relight it by pressing the minus and plus buttons simultaneously. The pre-programmed meats and doneness temperatures make it easy to use; the screen shows the meat selected, the current temp of the meat, the target temp of the meat. There is an alarm that sounds when the meat has reached the target temp. However, I have found that when a steak reaches 10 degrees before the target temperature, you should stop cooking it as it will still cook after it is removed from the grill. If you don't, the meat will go past the target temperature and doneness. Nonetheless, it's a great tool; Happy Camper.

Best Meat Thermometer
Well worth the money! Had to buy this as a replacement as I accidentally got water all over our first one and the battery compartment got wet and rusty. Only wash the probe! This thing works great for all types of meat!

It's not worth the additional cost. I bought it ...
It's not worth the additional cost. I bought it because it displays the goal temperatures for all kinds of meats. But is only for medium doneness, not rare or others. Also it beeps for seconds when over the temp, but the temp number is frozen until it stops beeping.

The battery cover comes off to often.
I like it is stream lined, the battery cover comes off to often, I like it but won't ever buy a nother one, agravating, I need to learn to hold it different, when I pull it out of the meat the cover is in my hand, they need to putca lock clasp of some sort.

Simple and intuitive.
Works quickly and is simple to use. Set the desired doneness for the specific meat, plunge it in and voila, almost instant reading. Actually beeps if the desired temp is reached or exceeded. Simple and intuitive. A little hard to find outside a Sabre dealership, and with none nearby, Amazon it had to be. No money saved but the device was worth it to me.
