I installed the BG Electrical Outdoor Double Switched Power Wall Plug Socket (Weatherproof, Nexus Storm) and it’s been solid. The weatherproof design gives peace of mind outdoors and the switches feel robust. Installation was straightforward, and it’s been reliable in all conditions so far. The build quality feels good and well worth it if you need a tough outdoor power solution.

I got this outdoor socket for the garden to replace and UV damage/aged plastic sockets and it has been excellent for the price. It feels far better made than some of the cheaper weatherproof sockets I have used before and once installed it gives confidence that it will cope with the British weather without any issues. The casing feels solid and durable with a sturdy lid that closes securely. The clear cover is useful because you can quickly see whether plugs are switched on without opening it every time. The large catches are easy to use even with wet hands or gardening gloves which is a nice touch. Installation was straightforward with clearly marked terminals and enough room inside to work comfortably with wiring. The multiple knockout options also made cable routing easier depending on where the supply cable comes from. Once mounted it sits firmly on the wall and does not feel flimsy or loose. I have used it outside through rain and it has remained completely reliable. The switches have a positive click and the socket cover seals properly around plugs when in use. Cheap compared to some brands but surprisingly well made and feels built to last.

Great build and a bargain! Got this to replace a similar old unit. This one is clearly a much better build and no doubt cost much less. Would definitely buy again.

Good quality, easy to install

I have worked on the tools all of my life: half of it in electrical installations, and the other half in high-tech equipment installations and maintenance in cleanrooms after completing an HND in engineering. This is a professional piece of kit, and I highly recommend it.

I bought the BG Electrical Outdoor Double Switched Power Wall Plug Socket for use in my garden and shed, and overall I’m very impressed. It feels solid and durable straight out of the box, with a robust design that gives me confidence it’ll last through all types of weather. The IP66 weatherproof rating means it handles rain and dust reliably, which is exactly what I needed for outdoor power tools and lighting.  The installation was straightforward with clearly marked terminals and multiple cable entry points — even for a non-professional DIYer like me it was easy to fit. The switches click confidently and the hinged cover feels sturdy enough to protect against moisture.  Compared to other outdoor sockets I’ve looked at, this one offers excellent value for money. It’s priced well and performs just as well (if not better) than more expensive alternatives. Reasonably well made. I watched the video for some tips, and it was worth espcially using sealant. As it is made out of robust plastic it was easy to drill holes as required. The fixing of your mains wire is as simple as wiring a plug. Well positioned inputs with good size inputs and strong screws. Someone moaned about the flap being hard to open and close. I agree it's a bit fiddly, but not impossible. You just have to get used to teh way the 'clicking lock' works. Or don't close - i don't! As for the plug inputs they offer a light 'on' neon. The plug of your device's cable becomes enclosed and helps with water deterant - back to the sealant. Happy with purchase and it looks good.

Fast delivery. Just out of the box, NO grommets to seal/hold cables, but they don't call me McGyver for nothing, otherwise it looks well made, no issues on opening or closing. i'll update more photos when I have it fitted, (showers today) Finished fixtures
