It's a great set. I like that it came with both the metal hooks and the tubing ones for wider projects. It was a good price, too. Storage is a little tricky, so I recommend you work that out right away. Unfortunately, I took too long to get a storage bag, and one of the aluminum hooks bent a bit. I was able to bend it back. But it wouldn't have happened if it had been safely in a bag or other container.

The metal hooks are good. My main issue is the bamboo ones. They’re AWFUL. First, there’s random red dye on the hooks and plastic tubing and they left a yellow dye all over my hands (I assume it was used to color the bamboo). Second they snag the yarn horribly. They’re not smooth at all. Third they’re inline. Not tapered like the metal ones. I do wish the metal ones went up to 10mm like the bamboo ones. That’s also disappointing. I guess it’s an ok set for beginners to see if you like it before spending more money on good hooks.

Takes a bit more patience than regular crochet, but the afghan stitch can be embroidered over, with beautiful results!

UPDATED REVIEW I removed a star because the yarn is snagging on the hook tips that are wood. The yarn also doesn’t slide like metal hooks, even with different yarns. I had to really take some time to sand down the wood hooks and handles. Pay attention to the edge especially in the “valley” of the hooks. After I sanded them down and polished them with a super fine emory board (for shine) I got them to a good place where they worked nicely, were slick with the yarn and I could enjoy them. ARE THEY WORTH THE MONEY? Yes, if you don’t mind taking some time to finish them. If you don’t want to sand them, then no. It wasn’t difficult, just time consuming. My hooks just arrived. They were a day late. One of the reviews stated that she had to use a Sharpie to write the sizes because it wore off fast so I applied some clear nail polish to the numbers Be careful! Only two strokes or it wipes the printed size off. (See photo) I felt the wooden tips for any spurs that would snag as well and mine all felt smooth. The wooden hooks are longer than I expected, to my delight! The plastic end seems supple, so I don’t think it will be difficult to work with. They uncoil easily. There are plenty of sizes from 2.0 to 9.0 for a variety of projects. I’m excited to try them! I gave them a 5.0 for the time being.

I love Tunisian crochet but always feel limited by the length of the hook. I am so happy to have found hooks with cords! The metal hooks also come in sizes I didn't have, so that's a bonus. I don't love that they are bamboo, since bamboo isn't as smooth, and I prefer tapered to inline, but I'm not taking points off because, well, these are all I could find of this type. I definitely still think these are worth it, the value is amazing and the possibilities are just opened up with these hooks!

Not only is every bamboo hook rough to the touch so they snag the yarn, but 3 of the hooks were damaged where they grab the yarn so it makes the yarn split, the plastic tube cable that is attached isn't flush with the hook so it catches the working stitches, the plastic tubing is also very lightweight so it bends resulting in stretching out the working stitches at the beginning of the project, AND the hook size is stamp-burned into the hooks and didn't appear to be samded down which ALSO snags the yarn. I am new to tunisian crochet, so I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on cabled hooks to learn with, so I expected mediocrity. I didn't expect completely unusable junk. The aluminum hooks were adequate, but essentially over half of my money was wasted because half of the items are garbage. If you're just learning tunisian crochet like me, don't order these, they're so impossible to use that you'll just end up rage quitting before you even know if you're going to like this style of crochet or not.

I like the product. It has metal straight hooks that are long enough to do Tunisian Crochet. Great variety of sizes of hooks. The wood part of hooks may need some spot sanding until they get more worn in, and the cables are a decent length. I give them a rating of 8 of 10 due to the wood hooks needing a little sanding due to some non-smooth areas, or I'm going to pull out my nail file and touch up some areas.

Not used yet, bit look good quality.

Habe das Set als Geschenk gekauft und es kam richtig gut an. Die Empfängerin häkelt und strickt viel und war sofort begeistert, weil sie tunesische Häkelnadeln schon länger ausprobieren wollte. Mit 23 Stück in verschiedenen Stärken ist man direkt gut ausgestattet und muss nicht extra nachkaufen. Die Nadeln liegen gut in der Hand und die Ösen laufen sauber, ohne dass der Faden hängt. Auch die Aufbewahrung ist durchdacht, alles hat seinen Platz und geht nicht durcheinander. Wer jemanden mit Häkel- oder Strickleidenschaft beschenken will, liegt damit richtig.
