Bought this for our grandson for Xmas and he loves it. The steam is a great feature and the fact that it can charge via usb is brilliant. The length of track is much bigger than a lot of other train sets on the market making it better value for money.

Excellent value trainset compared to expensive established brands if you just want a simple trainset. USB charging cable supplied but you will need a plug adaptor to charge the tender which took about 3 hours for the initial charge. I just wish there was an option to buy additional track, but overall I'm very pleased with this purchase. The quality is very good for the price.

Fantastic. Was going to give it to my grand daughter, but I think I will keep it for myself. What a bargain. Lovely little train set for any age. Steam comes out really well and very impressed with the lighting on carriages.

Really impressed with the quality for the money, really easy to put together around the Xmas tree. My two girls love watching, one down side is you can’t seem to turn the sound off.

We purchased this item to go around our Christmas tree and it did not disappoint. The (cold) steam effect vapour from the chimney is very realistic and the illuminated carriages are great. Anyone who doesn't like the sound effects (they could become annoying after a time I suppose) could possibly (in theory) try dismantling the engine and clip a wire to the loud speaker - I haven't done this as I think the sound is OK, although perhaps it could be a bit quieter. Our grandchildren loved it. Overall a good purchase, yes it is on the expensive side but the cheaper ones aren't as good in my opinion.

My son adored this set, it produces real smoke from the funnel with just a little bit of water in the tank area, it's easy to overfill so be careful with that when you do it. The carriages light up too and it has a usb cable to recharge the battery for the train which is great, no millions of disposable batteries needed to keep it running! It came with track and few accessories, trees, signs etc. Good value Christmas present.

Can't turn off the sounds. Returned and bought different one that has the ability and am happier. Quality looked fine but that noise was a deal breaker.

The steam engine is metal - the carriages are plastic but it's all well made. When you press the start button it makes proper train starting noises and steam comes out of the funnel, which is a hoot. We got it for our Christmas tree and it's perfect for that. Switching on the carriage lights is a bit fiddly but when it's all lit up and running it's very entertaining. Recharging is via a supplied USB connection (you need a plug though) and the charge seems to be lasting well. All in all a great choice of train. It helps that the sound effects aren't deafening, too!
