I wish I'd bought the spiral bound version of this book. My bad, I was trying to be cheap and now I'm fighting to keep it flat on my music stand.

Can't win at the Piano without Hanon and Czerny...
As a teacher since finishing college (music major) 1964 and a past member of the National Guild of Piano teachers I require Hanon and Czerny of even my beginners. I don't take pupils younger than 12 and in the 6th grade and have a "B" average...any less is a waste of my time and their time and their parents money. Just my opinion...and I have been teaching a VERY LONG TIME. Students younger and without the "B" average as a rule find the instrument TOO BIG and the grades indicate whether they will have to drive to stick with it because they get frustrated...and I don't teach for money. If parents want to give their children music...start them in Choir or a band insturment that doesn't require legs long enough to reach the floor and a through knowledge of fractions and hands too small to reach an octave. And you can say a hemi demisemiquaver and have them understand it almost instantly without having to explain a quaver (in music) to them.
