after a hoodrat tried desperately to steal my bike, he found he couldnt and began to destroy my brakes and dent the parts to my bike. I was appalled but I took it in stride. I had just walked into amazon fresh in pasadena to get some items, not realizing someone was ruining my bike outside. I came out and tried to unlock it and it was jammed! The criminal sat on a bus bench and didnt even leave!! altho, he covered his face w/ his hands! I had to go back into amazon fresh and ask for assistant. A guy in the back got BOLT CUTTERS. He just happened to have them, because he said "when employees leave they lock the storages". He broke through my severely damaged ulock offbrand that I bought here on amazon. I then realized the creep had hurt my front wheel so badly i had to drag it all the way home! I literally had to walk my bike home. I went back in and asked him to help me to make my front tire move!Thanks to the guy at the Amazon Fresh in Pasadena who was very helpful. You should tho have a bike area to lock your bike CLEARLY IN FRONT OF THE STORE and not off way to the side. This probably would have NEVER HAPPENED if you knew where to places to lock your bike.Which brings me to this lock. It took 100.00 to repair my bike and get this lock, and its nice and long, easy to turn once you figure it out and very sturdy.I will never lock my bike by far from a store. I will never lock my bike by a bus bench. I will never be out after 10 and LEAVE my bike locked where criminal element surely can exist.

they work great and make my bikes feel much more sacure...wish the shackle was just a lil bit longer or the locking worked a lil more smoothly as i have issues making sure the key is in the right position to allow lowing and unlocking the shackle.. but that is the price of secuirty perhaps since the lock is new the key is catching

Kryptonite locks have always been quality, and they work well very sturdy. But the Thievin has clicked up to a higher level these days and thieves are getting more tricky so good luck.

I purchased this as a replacement for a 5 year old version which sadly was going belly up. My first purchase of this type of lock was through a different store other than Amazon and I paid approximately $20 plus tax. Inflation has obviously taken it's toll as the new one was almost 3 times the cost of the original. It appears to be the same quality though. Should it last as long or longer then it's worth the cost. Actually, it's worth the price in protection against bicycle theft. I don't live in a city like Los Angeles or New York. I live in a city of approximately 100K. Bike theft here is real. I've known people with cable locks have their bicycles stolen. My recommendation for a bicycle lock is a U-lock. Preferably a Kryptonite like this one or one of their higher quality ones meant for larger cities. It may be heavy to carry around without the provided carrier, but it's better safe and sound then seeing a high end bike be stolen with lesser locks. I personally have ridden bike exclusively for over 24 years now. My recommendations for locks are U-lock, cable lock, then chain link if nothing else.U-lock being the toughest and chain link being the weakest.

This lock is sturdy and easy to use. It comes with two keys in case you happen to misplace one or just want an extra in case you misplace your keys, which I am prone to do. 🙄

High quality and strong lock

My experience with this lock has been nothing short of a nightmare. Here are the reasons why I cannot recommend this product:Gets Stuck Every Time: The most infuriating issue with the Kryptonite Kryptolok is its infuriating habit of getting stuck when I try to unlock it. It's supposed to be a quick and convenient way to secure my bike, but more often than not, I find myself wrestling with it for far too long. This not only wastes my time but also leaves me worried that I'll be stuck somewhere, unable to unlock my bike when I need it the most.Scratches Bike Frame: I don't use the included bike mount. However, the aluminum buckle is not removable and consistently scratches my bike while riding.Lock Scuffs Easily: To make matters worse, the Kryptolok itself is prone to unsightly scuffs and blemishes. It looks like it's been through a war zone after just a few weeks of use.In summary, the Kryptonite Kryptolok bike lock has been a massive disappointment. Its tendency to get stuck, scratch my bike frame, and scuff easily has left me frustrated and regretful of my purchase. I would strongly advise anyone in need of a reliable bike lock to look elsewhere and invest in a product that will actually keep your bike safe without causing more problems than it solves.

Montato in 10 minuti il supporto,qualche regolazione e via. Sembra essere di buona fattura e ben resistente. Certo io lo utilizzo su di una bici da meno di 200 euro quindi va benissimo,si integra perfettamente sul telaio senza dare troppi problemi,un po' pesante,ma significa anche che è robusto,lo consiglio chi come me deve usare la bici in città per andare a fare la spesa o andare a lavoro.

Im Gegensatz zu seinen Vorgängern besteht bei diesem Schloss der Bügel aus verchromtem Stahl. Der Schlosskörper nimmt den Bügel in gestanzten löchern mit nicht scharfen, aber Eckigen Kanten auf. Dadurch verklemmt sich der Bügel jedesmal, wenn man bei Enden nicht ganz genau parallel in den Schlosskörper einführt (wenige Grad Verkantung sind schon zu viel) oder der Bügel (z.B. beim Anschließen an einen festen Gegenstand) minimal unter Spannung steht. Wenn es einem dann nicht gelingt den Bügel durch ganz sachtes Wackeln wieder frei zu bekommen und man mit Kraft drückt oder zieht, dann schält der Schlosskörper Chrom vom Bügel ab (Vorsicht spitze Metallspäne), wodurch die Fläche noch rauher und damit noch Empfindlicher gegen Verkanten wird. Außerdem ist da Schloss nach einem halben Jahr schon so verrostet, wie mein erstes, 30 Jahre altes, Kryptonite. Fetten kann man das Schoß zur Verringerung der Reibung übrigens auch nur bedingt, weil die die Aufnahmen für die Bügel-Enden im Schlosskörper hinten offen sind und Fett an den Bügel-Enden Kleidung und Rucksack einsauen würde. Ach ja und die Schutzabdeckung für das Schlüsselloch friert im Winter gerne fest, muss also offen bleiben und ist dadurch nutzlos. Insgesamt sehr enttäuschend.
