Great for nursing students
Great skull for studying anatomy. The skull actually separates. You can identify and label everything!

Great find!
I have owned replica skulls in the past, and these are far superior to any of the previous models I have purchased. While I plan to remove the hardware (at least holding the dome on) I find the springs on the jaw impressive. Previous models I owned had the jaw hardware outside the jaw, but these are located inside. While they are a bit pricier than other skulls I have bought, they are still a remarkable value. Hard plastic construction (durable), highly accurate, and truly life-size, this product is everything you could want in a replica human skull. It does have a gloss finish to the plastic, so a true to life bone look will require augmentation, but the detail goes a long way to distract from this otherwise inaccurate quality.

An Excellent Product at a Phenomenal Price
This skull is incredibly well made, and excellent to study from. This durable material can certainly allow for a good tumble or two without harm for those of us who sometimes places object precariously atop other, less stable, objects. Moreover, the springs that hold the jaw shut are easy to remove if desired. The level of detail is top quality as they have not only the large plates sculpted via details as you might find on all skull models, but they've also carved out the finer details like the mental and infraorbital foramen and lacrimal bone, and that level of detail extends to the inside and underside as well. Overall, this is an excellent model and should really be the only skull that anyone should consider if they are going buy one.

Great skull, better customer service
I was looking for a skull to teach my students with and I kept finding these $200-$300 models. I didn't have that kind of money, and then I found this skull from MAAD scientific. I figured it wouldn't be as good, since it was much cheaper, but I was wrong. It has all the foramen in the right spots, the teeth are even individually socketed, which is incredible attention to detail. I couldn't ask for more. What's more, I had a problem with the first shipment, and the seller fixed the problem within hours of contact. They were fantastic. If you need a skull for teaching or learning, this is a great choice.

Very great reference for artists.
Teaching anatomy to trained artists for many years now, I’ve studied and been exposed to many skull reproductions male and female, within wide variety of ethnicity. This skull represents a good archetype of a male mid-age European skull with proper proportions that is not overly exaggerated, which serves important aesthetic considerations beyond merely learning anatomical facts. Because in process of studying, a student also memorizes it as an archetype reference it becomes important that the version you commit to your memory is a good one, and not a distortion of the truth. A good reference skull should be both anatomically accurate and beautiful too.

Borders of inferior temporal bone could be better
I ultimately returned the Maad skull in favor of the Weldon due to better temporal bone topography. What Maad has done better is the ptrygopalatine fossa including the opening of the foramen rotundum which Weldon does not have. They have also left the roof of the left carotid canal off so you can view that path which could be a nice touch for the right student. As another reviewer pointed out the Maad skull is missing the optic canal (espeically egregious because every other product has those), the hypoglossal canals, the condylar canals, and some other lesser details. The Maad is plastic and these can be drilled out if the ptrygopalatine fossa is what you really need. None of the products I looked at has done a great job with the petrosal openings. Reviewers criticizing variation between the left and right on any of the model skull products should take some time to look at real specimens online - no one is symmetrical. This asymmetry is correct and can only help you if you are going to have to identify features on real skulls. Ultimately the Maad model skull is a decent product depending on the details you are most interested in. I found the inferior surface of the temporal bone lacking.

Great REALISTIC Skull Model
This is a good quality (especially considering the price) actual size human skull model. It appears the mold for it was cast from an actual human skull. The detailing on the teeth is especially nice, they are actually glued into sockets. The top of the brain case comes off, showing good detailing on the inside of the skull and even the cut edge of the skull. If you are looking for a *realistic* skull, this is a good one. If, however, you are looking for a scary Halloween nightmare fantasy skull, with completely unrealistic, non-human features resembling a "Punisher" image, this isn't the one for you.

Very nice for the price
Arrived with a couple of teeth loose in the box which was no big deal. The jaw bone was also ill fitting due to excess material which had been added to the mold in an attempt to make the mandible fit squarely on the casting. Some of the inner detail is molded a little on the thick side but that can be expected when casting an object as intricate as a human skull.Overall I am extremely satisfied with the model with one exception which is a prominent flat area on top of the cranium where it appears as if the part might have been deformed by laying it down on a flat surface prior to it being fully cured/cooled. That aside, this is an excellent value, especially at this price point.

Magnifique !
Excellente reproduction.

Good to use for Crafts or Decoration!
I had purchased this skull to try and recreate an iconic statue that was once sold for the manga Berserk for my boyfriend, and this did not disappoint! I was nervous when waiting for it because I didn’t know how it would truly look in person but it’s quite accurate to the product images! It was exactly what I needed to make a higher quality recreation of the statue and I’m happy with the work. Some teeth were a bit loose and there were some dull scuffs in certain parts of the skull that took away from its look but for someone like me that was easy to cover up, especially because I had done so much to the skull to change it. I cannot speak for accuracy of the skull like others as that was not the reason behind my purchase so the five stars does not come from that. I didn’t not take any complete before photos so what you see is photos I took after I began crafting and restructuring parts of the skull. If you’re looking to use this for a decoration or craft I suggest you actually consider the purchase!

Super excited but with black marks
Missing one star because doesn’t look brand new, a lot of black marks that look like shoe marks on the ground but still like the anatomical precision and bone structure.

Stay away from this, everything about the anatomy of this garbage is so wrong, might as well throw it away
