Simply works, with fast readout. Aside from checking the temperature of food being cooked, it is also handy for checking if food is too hot/cold to eat. Once owning it, it seems to become a must-have.

My husband is the one who is happy about it. Easy to read, easy to understand how much temperature is done. He likes to use it for his BBQ meat. Because we have different preferences about how much the beef should be done. Also it's easy to stock, just leave it on your refrigerator.

If you're buying for the magnet, don't it's not strong enough to hold it's own weight. Works ok but not as fast as my last digital thermometer and no back light, very hard to see display in poorly lit areas.

This is NOT an instant read thermometer. Yes, it reacts instantly, but it takes 20 to 30 seconds to actually read the temperature of the meat. Way too long. The control buttons are tiny and take a fingernail to operate. Pushing the buttons with gloves on is impossible. The product is made of cheap plastic and made in China. On the positive side, I like the magnet feature, it has recommended cooking temps on it, I did not return it and it was inexpensive.

Fast reading and convenient. I like the auto off. The only complaint is the probe is not fixed well into the hinge so it will come out if you try to wipe it off without holding onto the metal. Maybe it's just mine?

This thermometer is compact, reasonably fast (but not instant). I had it for 3 years before the plastic housing around the probe disintegrated, probably due to degradation of the plastic by the heat of the grill (I used it mostly to check the temp of foods I grilled). My Weber grill gets very hot, over 600 degrees F, so hot that I must wear an oven mit to hold the thermometer while checking internal food temp. If it were faster to respond, it wouldn't have been exposed to heat as long and would probably have lasted longer.It's a shame I can't find any with a metal case.

this product works perfect. I have been using it for a month and did not find any problem with it yet. Worth it!

I always want a good thermometer for cooking steak. This one works great. It can be easily inserted into the meat. I like it very much.
