Q: Can you play against other people over the internet?

While there is information in the DGT Pi Manual related to this, I not aware of anyone being able to use this functionality yet. Here's what the manual says: • Remote play mode: This mode allows you to play against other players or engines over the internet. Be aware that this mode is NOT YET supported in software version 0.9L.

Q: Does this work specifically with any dgt board?

DGT Pi is a great tool for playing chess, for training and for analyzing games and positions over the board, using a traditional wooden chessboard and pieces. Chess engines included are StockFish, Texel, Arasan, Rodent II, Zurichess, Floyd, Cinnamon and Claudia.DGT Pi can also be used as a fully functional DGT3000 chess clock.

Q: Is the chess program engine on the mini sd card itself?

DGT Pi comes with a pre-installed 8Mb SD card that is placed in a slot at the bottom. DGT Pi is ready to play and normally it is not required to reprogram the installed software. If DGT Pi does not function properly or a software update is available, reprogramming of the SD card may be required.
