Works great
Great little rock tumbler. My 7 year old has had so much fun tumbling rocks with this. It does a great job and I have no complaints. Booklets include gives good instruction, settings are easy, lid is easy to come in and off if you follow directions. Doesn’t come with enough tumbling powder but I ordered more knowing I would have to

Great Tumbler! But do some research about proper tumbling technique before using.
Edit 11/29/23. Still love this tumbler. Had a problem with it. Contacted customer service and they took care of it right away. Awesome company, and the best service! Makes a terrific gift for the holidays. We got one for our grandkids this year. Got this tumbler for Christmas. Favorite gift this year. I Love going out and Beaching and finding Afates, Jasper and Quartz treasures. This unit is great! It's quiet, works well and the company has responsive customer service. It comes with a beautiful color instruction manual. The manual isn't bad. But I've learned from groups that tumble on Facebook and forums that there are several things tumbler manufactures get wrong in the instructions. The biggest one is speed. This tumbler spins too fast in all speeds and will bruise stones easily if you run it in speed 3 or 2. So always run it on speed 1. The manual lists RPMs at the axle I timed the RPMs of the barrel and that is rotating at 70-90. It is still faster than recommended but if you fill the barrel as close to 3/4 as possible along with ceramic filler you can minimize bruising. I included picks from my 2nd Tumble and they turned out good with speed 1 and mostly full tumbler. After first cycle you will need to have filler for other 3 cycles. Ceramic works but if you don't have enough ceramic to fill close to 3/4 I found decorative glass beads at the dollar store that work great as filler. I also use 2 tbs of Borax between each cycle and run for 2 hrs will clean the grit from rocks and tumbler pretty well which is essential por good polish. After polish cycle I run for 2 hrs with 2 tbs Ivory soap flakes to help increase shine. Also be careful in cycle one with small stone as this tumbler turns very fast and small stones can dissappear if you run it for a full week. So I check after 4 days to see if I should pull them out and sub in glass beads as filler. Some stones make take more than a week in first cycle. Agates take awhile and you don't wants pits or irregularities to carry grit into polish cycle. So I try to get very smooth in first stage. Anyways this tumbler is alot of fun and I am looking to purchase other tumblers now. I am particularly interested in a vibratory tumbler, they are much faster and use less grit. Potentially you can have polished rocks in a week instead of a month.

Great tumbler for rocks and coins and the best customer service
This is an excellent tumbler that does what it's supposed to do. It provides a simple introduction to rock tumbling for the young adult beginner yet will give you beautiful professional results if you use it the way the pros do. You might not get pro results following the instructions the first time. Remember, it's just an introduction providing an overview and demonstration of tumbling. If the kit ends up giving you nicely rounded but very dull unfinished stones like I experienced, you'll be disappointed of course and think the tumbler stinks. But make sure you watch a few pro tumbling YouTube videos after your first experience with this kit. Then you'll know what to do the next time. For example, I found Cycle #1 at Speed #3 just too fast. The stones got really beaten up, and the tumbling was pretty loud. It might need to tumble much slower. I also tumble coins I find ocean beach metal detecting. This tumbler is perfect for cleaning up those nasty coins that have been in salty sand/salt water for weeks and months. I've attached some before and after self-explanatory pics including rows of washed and dried coins, drums before and after each type of coin and the tumbling medium. I won't go over the contents of the whole kit. Other reviewers have listed everything. It may seem at first like a cheaply built toy tumbler when you first pull it out of the box having been very nicely packed, but this is not a junky toy. It is built to do the job. If you treat it right, it will last. When you open the box, don't take the tumbler out yet. Pull out the water resistant, very well written and thorough manual. Read it cover to cover. I could describe all the dos and don’ts here, but the manual does the job quite well. I've read the reviews. From the problem descriptions, you'll understand that some folks simply didn't read the manual through. But if you have any problems at all or don't quite understand what to do contact Customer Service. You'll get Anne or Daisy. Daisy is 24/7 amazing. She’ll talk you through any issue or problem you’re having. Customer Service is not an easy job. But she (and Anne) will not stop until you're happy. You've seen their great reviews. But they're understatements. Daisy.....10 stars!

Best in class IMHO
Great beginner tumbler. Kit includes everything needed to get started right out of the box (tumbler, stones, grit kit, jewelry findings, instructions) and a generous 1 year warranty. Digital controls regulate on/off, rpm, and number of days per tumble and work smoothly and accurately. Grits include coarse, medium, fine, polish, and ceramic tumbling beads to cushion stones during the tumble. Stones are dime to quarter size quartz, jasper, etc and do tumble nicely. The jewelry findings are definitely kid oriented but are a nice inclusion. Only negative is that some reviewers find that the drum spins too fast for a really good polish. T his is discussed on many Youtube videos. I feel the tumbler is fine for kids or amateur adults and certainly a step up from the others I have used in the under $100 dollar range, especially given the generous 1 year no questions asked guarantee. Recommended.

Exceeded my expectations completely
I wanted to personally thank the KoolStone team for the outstanding customer service regarding my rock tumbler warranty request. I received the replacement base, and I honestly could not be happier with how smoothly everything was handled. I was genuinely surprised at how easy the process was from start to finish, and their team exceeded my expectations completely. It’s becoming rare these days to find a company that stands behind its products so quickly and professionally, and I truly appreciate the experience. Because of that, I absolutely wanted to share my positive experience with others. Excellent support and solid tumbler for the price. The main reason for needing warranty support was misplacing the spare parts that come with it. The tumbler motor itself is quiet and the noise is to be expected when rocks are tumbling over the top of each other. Overall great value.

Reliable and long lasting!
Love this little tumbler. Works well, and has held up over the year+ that I've been using it. And customer service is really helpful: I just needed some replacement belts (those wear out naturally, especially with how much I use it), and they were quick and super helpful :)

Going strong after almost 3 months of near-constant use
I only learned that rock tumbling was a thing relatively recently after I started collecting tumbled beach and river stones that I wanted to turn into jewellery. I was researching the best way to get the stones I collected to have that wet look. I wasn't sure if I wanted to make rock tumbling a hobby so I originally bought another tumbler and it turned out to be really tiny, so I bought this one so I'd have 2 after reading about how long the process takes and how even if you start a bunch of stuff at the same time, it doesn't mean they'll be done at the same time. Well the other one I bought stopped working after a month. They sent a replacement, but it's still in the box. This one has been going almost nonstop for 3 months and I've been happy with it. A belt snapped a couple weeks ago, but luckily it came with extra belts so I was able to get it back up and running. However, I'd forgotten that it had come with extra belts so reached out to Koolstone and they sent me 3 more belts! Compared with the hoops I had to jump through with the other manufacturer/seller, this was a walk in the park. It's a good size at 2.5 lbs which means I can get a lot of stuff in there. I mostly pick up smaller stuff, but ocassionally I'll find a larger agate or piece of jasper (about the size of a larger tangerine, but not as big as a tennis ball) and it's handled those well. I also like that it has 3 speeds which lets you speed up some of the earlier stages. Maybe that's not a good thing for real rockhounds, but for right now, it's suiting me. It is a bit noisier than I'd like. I've tried placing it on a thick folded up towel which helped a bit. I recently bought some vibration absorbing blocks to put underneath but it only made it worse. Some folks have recommended the cat litter furniture that looks like a side table as a good option to help buffer some of the noise while still allowing good airflow to avoid the motor overheating. I haven't tumbled the rough rocks it came with so can't speak to the quality of those. I understand from folks who've been doing this a long time that the grit that comes with these hobby/toy tumblers isn't the best quality. I only used the grit for the first 2 stages as I had to buy more anyway since things didn't smooth out as much as they should've.

Great for a First Time Tumbler
For a first time rock tumbler this is great! Super easy to use- the instructions are clear & simple to follow. The machine is easy to use & pretty quiet for what it is, but I also have nothing to compare it with. It's small enough I'd take it camping with me as long as I've got an electric site. I've just started the second phase & the first phase worked well!

Great Tumbler for a Happy Birthday Girl
My 8yr old daughter wanted a rock tumbler for her birthday and I am very happy with this model. It works great, it’s easy to use, and it’s easy to clean. The only thing I would say is that you should read the instructions closely because I didn’t read them closely enough for the final stage. If I had, my rocks would have been more polished had I made sure to follow the steps. That being said, it was my own fault because the instructions were clear and easy to follow, I was just in a hurry😄. I’ll update in the next batch when I follow the instructions with more precision. Customer service is very helpful and you get free belts and another rock sample if you send in the code. The tumbler does make some noise, but that’s easily solved if you put it in your garage or a corn of your home away from everyone. My daughter loves how the rocks turned out and is very excited for the next round. As someone who always wanted a tumbler, I enjoy spending time with my daughter on this pursuit. I am very happy with the purchase and am looking forward to more rock adventures.

Fun machine that teaches patience.
It is a solid little unit that seems to do its job. Our rocks didn't come out quite as polished as we'd hoped, but I think it's because we did not clean out the unit as thoroughly as we should have between steps. We are looking forward to running it through its sequence with fresh rocks again soon. We did have a minor breakdown with the lid, but Daisy replaced it quickly and at no cost to us.

You’ll need the extra belts they offer
I love my little tumbler! It’s been running 75% of the time for the last couple months. It’s done a great job. The company offers extra belts, make sure you take them up on their offer. The original cracked and broke off my machine yesterday. Super easy to replace as there is open access to the wheels and the belt pops on like a rubber band.
