We have 5 cats and were looking for something like a “crate” to hold them in on occasion and just to have for them to play in. We are using it inside only. I do agree with other sellers that I don’t think this would hold up for maybe 2-3 years outside. It does come in two different boxes- I messaged seller and they sent me both tracking numbers. It got here is 2-3 days after ordering. It is not the most sturdy. The pieces are very thin. We cracked one of them with a screw, but it didn’t split completely and we were still able to use it. The roof is heavy enough to ground it for the most part though. We didn’t screw in the roof. It did fine holding a 25+ pound cat, so I’d say it’s okay. It is pretty simple to put together. It has a lot of parts. I do wish it was less expensive. $500 seems a bit pricey for it, but it’s one of the nicer ones on Amazon and the price is comparable. We’ve only had it for an afternoon, so I’ll update if anything happens.

Easy to put together, great step by step directions. I started to put it together by myself with a drill. I got the 3 sides together and up. I ended up needing help because I needed extra hands putting the benches together. I think it took a total of 4 or 5 hours to complete the project. The screen is metal and hung on the inside of the catio. Which is great so the cats can't push it out wards. It's nice that I get to decide where to put the cats entrance. And the double doors can be screwed together, which is what I did. I put a clasp on it so I can put a lock on it. Just so no one can open it by accident. I didn't put the boxes on them because my cats really like laying in the sun. I used one of the boxes as part of the entrance into my house. Everything is screwed to my patio floor. It makes it very sturdy.

Shipment came in 2 packages. Packed well. All pieces accounted for and labled. Definitely a 2 person project. Took 2 hours to complete the catio without the roof. You will only split the wood if you don't center the various frames and/or supports before screwing them in. Quality is ok. We opted to fabricate a 2 X 10 pressure treated base assembly, as the catio height was too short for optimal cat entrance to the unit. We also built a landing, out of 2x4 pressure treated lumber, on top of the shelf that is provided at the back wall, so our cats can enter via the bedroom window cat door, (not yet arrived and also from Amazon, lol). That shelf is way too low even after adding the 2x10 base assembly. Be careful when screwing down the roof sections, and line up the frame, as is is quite pliable until screwed in. If you arent careful you will blow out the frame. All in all, I am happy with the catio. Our kittehs are not using yet. I want to install the cat door in the window first. Will post an update then. After reading the other reviews, I was totally prepared for some work with this, which is probably why I can give it 5 stars. There were a few additional holes that needed to be drilled and it did take effort and room to lay it out for assembly. You really need two people for assembly. I also ended up putting one strip of flat metal on the back for additional support. Now that it's done, I love it and so do the cats! It is up under a porch roof so I'm not sure how it would do if left out in the elements all the time. I would probably put a sealer on the wood if that were the case. Love the full door on this unit too - I can easily get in and to my cats if need be.

So a few good and bads with this product. For 500 bucks, the wood isn't sealed with any weather proof stain or anything. So had to spray it all down, because i didn't want it to rot. Whoever put the drill holes in kind of messed it up. And the wood is so thin and flimsy, it just isn't worth 500 bucks. It looks somewhat nice in the end. But the quality of the materials aren't it. I just hope it lasts for a long time. Just think about what ur willing to spend into it to make it last, or if it's better to just use better quality materials and just do it yourself.

This was a great starter kit. Easy to assemble. Not made for large cats. Not as large or as sturdy as we thought it would be. We had to use back panels to extend the depth of it. Then had to modify roof since it wouldn't fit anymore. Also had to buy more lumber to strengthen the integrity. We have two large Maine Coons so we needed the extra strength to accommodate their weight.

I bought this for my cats and kittens, every thing was great instructions good and both boxes came the same day, we did seal it and also bought plexiglass for the outside so no other animals can get in it like snake even tho we don't have snakes on our deck also it helps keep everything dry, carpet toys. We did have to modify the window opening a bit cuz of the kittens but every thing was great.
