Someone asked how tall this is from the board surface, and got three different answers! one review said only 12'' high. how tall is it?

12 inches tall is the correct answer. How high would you want it to be? It is a very sturdy, well-built product.

How high is this from the ironing board up?

The top is approximately 12 inches above the surface of the ironing board. It is an excellent, sturdy product. I highly recommend it.

How wide a board can it accomodate? Thank you!

Do you mean, how "thick" a board can it accomodate? It has a wide enough opening that it should be able to fit any standard commercial ironing board. I have had no trouble with my unit. Hope this helps.

Will this fit in a stow away cabinet when in the non-use position?

The black part adds about 3/4" on the side and sticks up about 2.5" above the ironing surface after you fold down the "antenna." If you don't have that room on the side, or if it would prevent the board from folding flat or sliding back into the cabinet, then it might not fit. I have a regular ironing board, so that is not a concern for me.
