Great product.
Go's on smooth. A little goes a long way. I've treated my long outback trading co coat and my oilskin cowboy hat. Can stand in the pouring rain for hours and stay dry. I recommend 2 light application after the first application has been totally observed. Over the first year I usually apply 3 light applications and water runs off my like a ducks back. Good product. 5 starz

Smooth, easy to use wax for oil cloth
My Kakadu Oil Skin waist jacket (ends above the knees) is about 15 years old. It is my "kick around" jacket - that is it gets wadded up behind the seat of my Jeep; folded up and bungee'd on the back of my motorcycle; broken out in rain, mist, and wet weather. I dug it out a few weeks ago and realized that it had seen better days. It was dried out. Dirty as hell, with patches of mildew in places, and smelled very musty. *sigh* Despite the age and years of abuse, it is still in excellent condition. So I accepted the fact it needed to be washed and overhauled. An extra long wash cycle tumbling in a modern washer produced a dark brown sludge of contamination and oil, all now removed. A tumble in the dryer removed any lingering old wax. I ordered a jar of OT Oilskin Duckback, which promptly came in a couple of days. I set up the ironing board in front of the TV; put on a horrible horror movie from Amazon Prime; donned on latex gloves, and spent the next 2 hours vigorously working nearly 3/4 of a jar deep into the material. I added extra into every seam, around every button, into every fold and pocket. The secret is to take your time. Ensure an even coat. Work the wax deep into the material. Don't just spread it on, but really work it in. Last step was to hang up the jacket to dry for a week, then tumble in a dryer for 15 minutes to ensure that the wax "wicks" into the material evenly. The final results were amazing. I have a light sheen of wax coating the entire jacket evenly, with a rich dark black color. The jacket is softer, and should perform better than new for the 10 years. I'm super happy and would absolutely do this again for any material still in great shape.

Great product but wish they had larger containers
To get my ankle length oilskin coat from no wax to fully waxed required 3 jars including the cape and extra on all the seams. My Driza-Bone riding coat had a pretty funky smell that vinegar couldn't get rid of. So I ran it through the washing machine 3 times to get all the old oil/wax out. Afterwards I had to steam clean the washer because it leaves quite the mess in the drum. Hung it up to air dry for a few days. Then for rewaxing I heated the wax up in warm water until it was nearly melted then worked it into the fabric by hand and scraped the excess off with a silicone scraper. After I got the coat fully waxed I tossed it in the dryer on low for about 5 minutes to get the coat warm so I could rub the wax with a microfiber towel to get a consistent coating. Now the duster looks brand new and doesn't stink.

Brings Waxed Gear Back to Life โ Easy Application and Excellent Water Resistance
I've been using the OUTBACK TRADING Duck Back Protective Conditioning Waterproof Wax Dressing to maintain several waxed cotton and outdoor garments, and the results have been impressive. If you own oilskin coats, waxed canvas jackets, hats, or outdoor gear that has started to lose its water resistance, this product is worth keeping on hand. The wax dressing is easy to apply and spreads evenly across the fabric. After following the instructions and allowing the treatment to absorb properly, my older gear regained much of its original appearance and water-repellent performance. Water once again beads on the surface instead of soaking into the material. What I appreciate most is that this product doesn't try to completely transform the fabricโit simply restores the protection that was already intended to be there. Much like a good maintenance routine, it reinforces what works instead of covering up problems. That's a refreshing approach in a world where many products promise miracles but deliver little. The conditioning properties are also noticeable. Several items that had become dry and slightly stiff after years of use felt more supple after treatment without becoming greasy or sticky. The finish remained natural and consistent with the original look of the garments. A little goes a long way, and the container should last through multiple applications depending on the size and number of items being treated. For anyone who regularly uses outdoor clothing, this can help extend the life of expensive gear and maintain its weather resistance. Pros: +Restores water repellency effectively +Easy to apply and work into fabric +Helps condition and maintain waxed materials +Suitable for jackets, hats, bags, and other outdoor gear +Long-lasting product with good coverage +Helps extend the life of outdoor clothing Cons: -Application can be somewhat time-consuming for large garments -Best results require following the instructions carefully and allowing proper curing time The OUTBACK TRADING Duck Back Protective Conditioning Waterproof Wax Dressing is an excellent maintenance product for waxed cotton and outdoor gear. It restores water resistance, helps condition aging materials, and extends the useful life of quality garments. If you've invested in waxed jackets, oilskin coats, or outdoor equipment, this is a practical and worthwhile product to keep in your gear-care kit. Highly recommended.

Excellent!
This is the good stuff. I've been using this cream to waterproof boots and oilskin products for ages. The latest item I needed to touch up was my Outback Trading Co. Grizzly Outback Oilskin Hat. This matched the product already on the hat perfectly.
