I’ve been using edge control for a while now, and it’s honestly one of those small products that makes a big difference in how polished your hair looks. The main benefit is how well it lays down edges and smooths flyaways. When you get a good formula, it gives a sleek, clean finish that holds throughout the day without needing constant touch-ups. It’s especially useful for slick backs, buns, ponytails, or any style where you want your hairline to look neat and defined. Another thing I like is the shine it adds. Most edge controls give a slightly glossy finish that makes the style look more put together without making your hair feel overly greasy. If you use the right amount, it blends in naturally instead of looking heavy or stiff. Hold strength can vary a lot depending on the brand. Some are soft hold and great for natural looks, while others are strong hold and can last through heat, humidity, or long days. The strong ones are great, but they can sometimes flake if you apply too much or don’t brush it in properly. The downside is buildup. If you use edge control too often without washing your hair regularly, it can leave residue along the hairline. Also, some formulas don’t handle humidity well and can start to lift or lose hold throughout the day. Overall, edge control is a staple product if you like sleek styles and defined edges. When you find a good one that works for your hair type, it really helps complete your look with minimal effort.

Great edge control. Does not turn white. Can leave it on for several days without touching it up. No flaking. Great hold for cornrows also.

This is my go to edge control. It smells really good and it is not heavy. I recommend washing your edges before using it over and over to prevent build up. I think it is good for the girlies with 4 type hair just make sure you are using a silk scarf to lay it down for a few mins. Also be aware that it works best when it’s not so hot out side and if even it sweats out a little bit it will still look nice. It does hold really well especially when it’s cold. I’m currently using the blue one , it’s good but I think I’m going to switch back to my red one!

As someone with 4B hair who likes trying different styles, this works pretty well for holding hair in place. It has a strong hold, but be careful because it can turn white if you layer other products on top of it. I’m also not a big fan of how it leaves my hair feeling hard and helmet-like,(ik some of y’all like that look and feel tho) which is why I’d only recommend it for styles you want to keep in for a week or two with little to no flyaways. I personally wouldn’t recommend using this for braids — maybe just edges or a small amount on braids. For some reason, it slightly irritates my scalp and causes a burning feeling. I thought it was just me at first, but every time I use it and then wash it out, the irritation goes away. Other people in my household have said the same thing happened to them and mind you none of us have sensitive skin issues…but anyway If you’re using this to lay your edges, definitely make sure to wash it out every few days if you’re gonna keep redoing them.

Omg this stuff is amazing. It does not turn white. And it keeps my edges intact. Even at times after a work out (and I get really sweaty) I can retouch them without putting on more. It may not look as fresh but its something. This is my go to forever. PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE THE FORMULA.
