Great bibs for messy eaters
These are great bibs for keeping your baby clean during mealtime. Having long sleeves with cuffs keeps his clothes clean no matter how messy he gets while eating. The pockets catch anything that dribble down. They are easy to maintain since you can just throw them in the washing machine. They look like they'd be big on a 6 month old but the cuffs work well to protect his arms and not get in the way of his hands, and the tie in the back lets you tighten it up as much as you need. Overall we really like these and strongly prefer them to the silicone style. The pattern is cute as well! We own several of them and expect them to last for years.

Perfection!
We love this bib. Great value. The sleeves keep the arms and clothes clean. Bib is long enough to protect clothes. Easy to clean and will be used for a long time.

prunes in a white outfit 🤯
I’ve been using this a couple weeks now, and I can’t believe it took me until my third kid to get one of these. It is a true outfit saver, and the tie back is so much better than the hook and loop versions because you can get it right up close to baby’s neck for a snug fit. We are doing a lot of purées and after weeks of use I felt confident and gave my baby prunes in a white outfit. The pictures speak for themselves! You won’t regret buying it. Easy to wash, I just rinse it off after feeding, sometimes with some soapy water, and lay it on the rack to dry. Super easy and worth it.

Sleeve elastic gets grody, but cute jungle pattern
I tried several of the main long sleeved smock bibs to see which I liked best - Tiny Twinkle, Bumkins, Bibado and Mushie. Bumkins and Tiny Twinkle are nearly identical, same type of water resistant easy to clean fabric and same size with pocket. The Bumkins is just slightly larger, as you can see in the picture of the Tiny Twinkle (checkered) on top of a Bumkins (jungle pattern) bib. The Bumkins has a tie in the back vs Velcro for TT. I slightly prefer the tie on the Bumkins since you don’t have to worry about Velcro snagging other clothes in the wash, but what makes Tiny Twinkle win out is that the Bumkins one has white elastic around the cuff of the sleeves that isn’t waterproof and gets gross looking quickly. TT has the waterproof fabric wrapped around. Not sure why the Bumkins product designer didn’t try their product on real messy babies! Bibado has the smart design of clipping around the high chair table to catch everything but I found the fabric hard to clean so it felt a little grody quickly. And Mushie’s fabric seemed less water resistant and the fit is rather huge even on my 90th percentile 9 month old. Maybe good fit for a toddler though.

Very well designed bib! Here are a few tips when using it...
We have been very happy owners of the Bumkins bibs for our daughter, starting with the baby version and then the "Superbib" (both are sleeveless). However, as she progressed to eating with her hands and then with a spoon, her messes outgrew the ability of both of those bibs to handle them. Especially when eating applesauce, yogurt, or similar foods, most of what didn't make it into her mouth would end up all over her arms or down around her thighs. This bib addresses 99% of that spillover. Here is what makes this such a great bib and why I find it superior to others: 1) Despite how large it is, it is soft, very lightweight, and completely waterproof. We tried several other large-pocket bibs were made of silicone-like material, and they were just too stiff to be comfortable, especially in the neck area. It made me uncomfortable just looking at her in those! 2) The sleeves provide full coverage of the arms, but better still, the sleeves have elastic at their ends which forms a little "seal" around your little one's wrists -- not tight, but snug enough to prevent even the most tenacious of applesauce globs from getting inside the sleeves. Major score here. 3) There is a large pocket that can catch a lot of dropped food... but see the tips below! 4) The bib secures behind the neck with ties, not velcro or snaps. We have some velcro bibs as well, and our daughter discovered that she could rip them off with gusto when she felt she was finished eating. Though I can't deny the dramatic effect the gesture had, it typically resulted in food being flung across the kitchen, which was not ideal. Better, we decided, for her bib to stay put until we could remove it in a controlled fashion, and the ties on this bib prevent such theatrics (and messes). So when do we use this bib? If our daughter is just having a snack in her high chair, like some Goldfish crackers and pieces of fruit, the sleeveless Bumkins Superbib does an admirable job. But if she is going to eat just about anything involving a spoon, or foods that can be messy like applesauce, this bib gets called into action. It's a workhorse of a bib, but there are definitely a few things you can do to maximize its effectiveness: 1) As I mentioned above, the bib's pocket is cavernous, but it is attached to the front of the bib at its center, which unfortunately means it does not stick out to catch food very well. We found that most of what dropped from the spoon bypassed the pocket and ended up in our daughter's lap. We fixed this problem by snipping the threads holding the pocket to the bib, allowing the pocket to billow forth in all its glory and trap those pesky food drippings. 2) When you secure the ties behind your little one's neck, make sure you draw the front of the bib up fairly high, so the front "collar" is beneath the chin; if you don't, the runnier foods can easily dribble right down beneath the bib. Note that I'm not saying to tie it tightly! You can pull the front of the bib up high but still have some slack in the ties. 3) When you go to remove the bib at the conclusion of a meal, take it off slowly and carefully! Remember that cavernous pocket I talked about? Turns out it can hold an enormous amount of food, and if you aren't careful when you remove the bib you may regret it. I'm embarrassed to say I made this mistake several times. Bottom line: We have been very impressed with the quality, functionality, and sturdiness of the Bumkins line of bibs, and this sleeved version is well worth its price.

Baby-led weaning essential
These bibs are essential for baby- led weaning. I am using them with my baby now, and they ensure he can feed himself without getting his clothing all dirty. They wash and wear really well. There is a tie closure which stays closed nicely and does not wear out as Velcro closures sometimes do.

Love these so my baby's outfit does not get dirty. Love that it covers the sleeves to be sure her sleeves and arms don't get dirty.

The best smock bib
These are THE BEST smock type bibs. We have three of them, and I will probably buy more. Before introducing our baby to solids I thought the silicon pocket bibs were the move but no. You need the arms covered as well, especially if you’re trying any sort of baby led weaning because the food ends up all over the place. If your baby has sensitive or eczema prone skin, it’s important to keep irritating foods off of the skin as well, and that’s where the sleeves come in handy. They have held up well in the washing machine, and you can get away with hand washing/rinsing them at times as well for not so messy messes. No stains so far after three months of frequent use. I’ve not seen any liquid bleed through onto the shirt underneath. The prints are also adorable. These check all the boxes for us!
