Passage to India Simmer Sauce, Tikka Masala, 7-Ounce (Pack of 3)

I'm not much for pouch mixes, but I really love this item. Not spicy or hot, but the right amount of flavor to give you a delicious meal. I have tried both lamb and chicken. I could see this working really well with an all vegetarian meal as well. It's really easy to use, directions are simple and you get a good result.

The flavor was ok but nothing that really thrilled me. Others may like it but I thought it was just "OK".

Very tasty sauce comparable to what I have experienced in Indian restaurants. Tried it with chicken the first time and plan to try lamb next. Will buy again.

I liked the sauce. My husband didn't. He spent time in India and said it tasted nothing like authentic masala. Easy to prepare though - if you don't have true India taste buds, try it!

Why didn't I know about this long ago? Finally, a quick and easy means to satiate my cravings for great-tasting, full flavored Tikka Masala! Out of the package, this is a great, thick sauce -- I have been adding some whole milk to make it creamier, which I prefer.

This is a pouch product tuned a little to American tastes and within the parameters that can be packaged. Fresh food of any type is usually better, but it requires a lot of effort to master the dish, like most complex recipes. This packet does a very respectable job for a dish that usually takes all day. There are always variations in different parts of India - which is a huge country - so matching any one area is impossible. This packet that you add to your own protein of choice has a sweet tang that I could compare to the best BBQ sauce. It is worth a try !
