High quality, very well made built like a tank
High quality, very well made built like a tank ... in China. Just telling you up front if that's a big deal to you. PROS: * Substantial hinge and latch. * Water resistant lid gasket. * Thick, unwimpy metal. * I'm 220 lbs and can stand on it, it shows zero signs of buckling. * The bottom corners are seamless. * The spot welds look to be very precise and well done. I"m guessing robotic welder but not sure? * Place a substantial lock on the latch and you have a good deterrent for "busybodies". * The metal snap-down carrying handle is very cool and usable. * I think this would survive someone seriously going at it with a baseball bat. (A gigantic crowbar would be another story, but I think they would still have to sweat). CONS: If someone is a true burglar or thief, if they gain physical possession of ANY portable security enclosure, it's just a matter of WHEN, not IF they will break into it. This could waste a lot of their time though. : ) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I bought this primarily to be sure rodents (squirrels, rats) would not chew through my "mad money" or "bug out" money kept buried under junk in a locked outdoor shed. NO, I DON'T KEEP A SMALL FORTUNE IN HERE!, just some cushion that could ease our way for a week or two in a catastrophe - enough to rent a hotel room for a few days and buy some breakfast and dinner for a few days. I keep my paper valuables in this so-called "Fireproof" pouch ---> https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CJ8VHQ3X?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 which I nest inside this Ammo Box. My combo setup mentioned here a calculated risk, and I feel it's better than doing nothing. I feel good about the risk/reward tradeoff. NO, I would not put my life savings or all my stocks and bonds in this. This could also be a good solution for secure food storage - again due to water gasket and being rodent proof. A thought: I'm not so sure you couldn't drill a few 3/8 inch or 1/2 inch holes through the bottom of this and bolt it to something substantial as an anchoring "deterrent". You would give up water resistance though. (If you used Stainless Steel bolts, washers and nuts and applied a large dab of silicon caulk as a sealant buffer before fastening, you might just keep some water / seepage resistance.) As for it's actual stated purpose, I have not put ammo in it but I'm sure it would do fine for ammo storage. It's built like a tank.

Great buy could be cheaper
This is the second one that I have purchased. It does the job. It could be a bit cheaper. I'm sure a lot of people would appreciate that, but as far as the durability sturdiness, appearance and stackability it is definitely up to par. It is very very durable. I do have one more gripe though and that would be that the smaller one does not have two handles like the larger one has so you carry it more like a suitcase but the larger one you carry more like a storage box with side handles. They need to put a second handle on the smaller one so you don't disturb whatever is inside when you carry it. Also, the pictures on amazon are cg pictures they are not actual pictures of what you can put inside the ammocan. My pictures definitely represent what you can put inside the smaller one a lot better. I highly recommend this product if you can get around the price...

Rugged Steel Storage
Sturdy, Lockable, and rugged steel. They are stackable and have foam included for multiple uses. So impressed with this design (similar to the 50 cal and 30 cal cans) in their closure mechanism. And lined with thick rubber in the lid to keep things protected from the elements. So impressed, this is a second purchase. Highly recommended AAA ☆☆☆☆☆

You Get What You Pay For
I will start by saying that I made the mistake of ordering some other cans off Amazon as I found this one very expensive. After being tricked and horribly disappointed by the rushed, low quality products posing as high quality with clean (now realized as fake) product images, I returned them all and decided to take a gamble on this expensive can. I'm glad I did. The quality and care that went into this can far exceeds anything else on the market. Yes, it's twice as expensive as other options and if you don't really care about getting the best or plan to beat them up then maybe the lower quality cans are fine (though Id argue they should be half the price of what they are). This is NOT one of those cheap cans. Immediately upon receipt, you can see a product that was properly packaged into a sturdy cardboard box with actual foam pads around all 8 corners. The can was well constructed with clean, straight seams, proper weld points, and it even had a WHOOSH when first opened as it adjusted to pressure differences, now that's a proper seal. The paint job is smooth and clean. Nothing about this product feels fake or cheap. My one area of confusion comes from the single "egg" foam at the bottom. I honestly don't understand what this is for as anything put in the case will just flop to the top or side when it's held by the side handle. In the end, you get what you pay for.

High quality, very versatile.
2nd unit I've bought. Very sturdy. Lends itself to being a top box on a motorcycle quite well. Will likely buy again.

Expensive, but worth it!
This is my 2nd one! I ordered a black one a while back and It is a joy to use. Unlike my other 50 cal or 30 cal boxes that I have to install a lock kit on myself https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018EYU5HQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 ... and then start pulling ammo out... to see what is down deep inside... this one is long and shallow instead. It also has a nice "lock loop" already installed! One quick glance and I can see what kind of ammo I have in the box without removing ammo and digging around. They also stack, if you want. I like them because you can hide them easily under some furniture (that the old style ammo boxes are too tall to fit under). Then, you can lock the box to the back of the furniture to deter the "Smash & Grab" thieves that may break into your home. The fit and finish is much better than you usually get with most ammo boxes. I don't use the foam that comes with it because it eats up too much space that could be used for ammo. But, I did cut some felt cloth to cover the bottom, as they could also serve as a place to temporally place a visitor's pistol... or one of your own...if you run out of room in your safe. I use them with a 4 digit combination lock. Treat yourself to a nicer ammo box than most... while you can!

Cost and paint is the main concerns.
This box is very sturdy. And it has plenty of storage space. Its a good metal thickness. It has a secure latch. And a very nice rubber seal. The main concern with me is it doesn’t appear to be a powder coat finish. So the paint comes off in flakes on high friction areas such as the latch. Overall is a great box but i just don’t believe its priced accordingly. It should be $10-$20 cheaper.

Twice the volume of the standard ammo can
Unlike army surplus ammo cans, this product has a very unique shape and double the volume of a standard army ammo can. Makes it a great choice for tool storage, or whatever. In this case, it is going to be a locking center console for an old pick up truck. Quality material, great fit and finish.
