Simple to install. Took five minutes and worked great.

Good price, good fit and looks. Dropped right into place and looks OEM. Not sure how long it will last, seems to be decent quality, appears to be made same as original. Working great now.

This latch looks very much like the original Toyota part. It’s also easy to install after removing the 8 torx bit bolts which secure the latch cover on the inside of the tailgate. Next pop off one quick release clip on the old latch which holds the two lock release bars. Then unscrew the latch assembly from inside the tailgate using a 10mm socket with small extension. Reassemble in reverse order. Now, I DID run into a little snag, where one of the bolt mounting points which secure the latch to the inside of the tailgate, was slightly off center of the bolt hole of my tailgate. But, it was easy enough the slightly enlarge the bolt hole in the tailgate using a drill bit which was slightly larger than the hole. Just don’t crank down on the 10mm bolts when installing the new tailgate latch. Too much torque could easily break the bolt mounts. Once secured properly the new latch works great, feels sturdy and looks just like the original.

First. Yes it did come with a broken cable clip but it took me 5 seconds and pair of pliers to get old one off and re-use it. second. It didn't work at first, not moving the rods. That was my error. When I installed the lock cylinder the lever on the tail gate was in lock position. Removing the lock cylinder, moving the tab on the locking lever 180 degrees, reinstalled the cylinder and everything works perfect! Would purchase again but I don't think that will be necessary judging by how well it is working. add on- emailed seller. Received email back saying they would mail new clip to me. Update- Received new clip. It had a whole new handle attached to it!! Seller went over and beyond my needs. Greatly impressed with customer service and how fast they responded. Hard to find such good service .

The quality doesn’t feel the greatest. It feels like it’s going to break each time I use it, but so far it’s help up for a few years. Just wish the plastic was a little stronger.
