Would this tool work on woven ground fabric used in gardening please, have around 100 meters to cut so this could be handy.

Not tried that but it does cut rope or webbing easily

Could this cut up plastic drink bottles please?

Yes I’m sure it could, but I can’t help but think it would be easier to use a sharp knife…..

will this cut through 40mm thick synthetic rope?

The cutting blade isn’t that wide but it’s gets extremely hot and would easily burn through it but, you’ll have to move the blade back and forward to achieve a decent cut.
