Whats the expiration date?

The box I just finished has a March 2020 expiration date. (This is July 2019)

Does it harden if it sits out for awhile in the bowl?

I think so. We buy it for our little dog and give it to her as "treats." (Our vet gave us the idea.) So we keep a pouch at a time in a little plastic storage box. However, l have found pieces under my china closet or refrigerator that she missed, and they have hardened---but that would have been for days.
