You only have to be able to make acceptable words and have them intersect like a crossword puzzle to play this game. If you're in a game with word-loving folks, the boards can be fabulous creations of interesting and arcane words... but no one needs to feel 'less than' as long as your play partners aren't judgemental. Games are quick and lively-- much nicer than the slow process of playing scrabble, where if you're like me, you look interest or focus when more than 3 people are playing. Packaged in the sturdy canvas banana are 144 white tiles with one black print letter on each. Lovely clacking sound as they're dumped on the table but quiet once in play and not distracting to other players. Everyone plays their own tiles, making their own words and 'boards' while sharing in the action of 'peeling' off tiles from the pile whenever someone has placed all the ones they had. You can 'dump' a tile too, taking 3 in return which isn't the punishment it seems since it gives you more to work with. Very fun, often funny and easy to haul around.

Bought this game to take on vacation. It was a BIG hit with all seven people who played. It's like Scrabble on steroids. The game is designed for one to 8 players. We played with anywhere from two to six players, all adults, varying in age from 20's through 70's. A two p!ayer game moves slower but is still fun. Once you have four or more players it gets hectic and crazy and the fun level raises along with the carping and laughing. It is easy to learn and quite portable. Highly recommend!

We're not game people, but I was introduced to this over the holidays. I love how it makes you think. My FIL has some early dementia, it's perfect for him to make words. He might not do the best connecting the words, but he's using his brain to make words. Easy learning, take anywhere. Great fun!

A great word building game that you play both by yourself and against others at the same time. When you play, you’ll see that actually makes sense. All you need is a flat surface, a vocabulary, and the desire to have fun…a few friends would also be good but they are optional as you can play this by yourself. I bought the two pack because I was going to give her one of them, only to find out she had gone out and bought it already as she had enjoyed the game that much. Makes a great gift so the second one went to a friend and we’re all enjoying Bananagrams.

My family truly loves and enjoys this game. It's so fun. It's really easy to play a few quick rounds, and enjoy some quality time with loved ones. It also provides some education value to that time. Some brain exercises.

Our entire family enjoyed this game. One of the winners was our 3rd grade niece!

I haven't yet played this game with little kids, I'm not sure if they'll love it like I do? This game is fun, easy to learn.. it is fun even if you don't win! I am 51, I played this with my friends while on vacation. We played almost every day! So when I got home I had to order my own. It may be due to my age? I like games that make me think. You can customize to suit your group too.. there are all sorts of possibilities!
