This scanner works well, great value for what you pay, has a lot of features, its compact technically wireless because it connects to your phone with the user friendly, easy to send diagnostic reports to your clients. It does what other scanners do that are much more expensive and the best part is monthly subscription fees it updates every time free, it provides accurate data, bidirectional all in a compact size like pocket size and I've had it for about 2 years already no regrets. I’ve been using automotive scan tools for years, and after actually putting the XTOOL A30M to work on a vehicle I was diagnosing, I was genuinely impressed with how much information this little tool was able to pull! I have another scanner that I’ve used faithfully for about six years and that has served me very well. On this particular vehicle, however, the A30M found additional trouble codes that my older scanner did not initially show me. Those additional codes helped me get beyond the surface-level problem and gave me more information to work with while narrowing down the diagnosis. That alone made the A30M extremely useful to me. One of the features I really like is the additional research capability once you’re looking at a trouble code. I posted a roughly two-minute video showing this. Unfortunately, the audio did not record correctly, but the video itself still gives a pretty good visual demonstration of how the process works. From the trouble-code screen, there are options that help you dig deeper into what the code means and research the possible causes. There is also an option that can take you directly into a Google search related to the code. From there, Google may provide additional search results and AI-assisted information that can help you continue researching the problem. I personally would never use an AI response or a Google search as the diagnosis by itself. What I like is having that information available immediately while I’m working on the vehicle. It can give you additional ideas about what systems, components, wiring, sensors, or live data you may want to inspect next. Combined with the information coming directly from the vehicle, it makes the diagnostic process much more efficient. Another small feature that turned out to be a major convenience is the built-in flashlight. On-Board Diagnostics II (OBD-II) ports are usually tucked underneath the dashboard, and even in daylight it can be surprisingly difficult to see exactly where the connector is located or how it is positioned. Normally I would be trying to hold my phone flashlight or another light while reaching underneath the dash. Having the light built directly into the A30M is simple, but extremely practical. What impressed me most is that this isn’t just a basic code reader. In my actual use, it gave me additional vehicle information that helped me continue a diagnosis when the information from my other scanner had basically stopped at the surface level. I still have a lot of the A30M’s functions left to explore, so I’m not claiming to have tested every feature. This review is based specifically on what I have personally used so far. Based on that experience, I’m very impressed with the XTOOL A30M. It is compact, convenient, easy to keep with you, and most importantly for me, it gave me useful diagnostic information that I was not getting from the scanner I had relied on for years. The built-in flashlight, deeper trouble-code research options, Google integration, and the additional codes it was able to retrieve have already made it a very useful diagnostic tool for me.

First this is the best BI directional OBD2 diagnostic tool I've used that didn't brake the bank, and it also having lifetime updates is amazing, I have used this tool to monitor my cars temp, wheel speed sensors, checked for crank signals on a few vehicles that didn't run, I have also been able to switch on and off fuel injectors and fuel pump separately to check fuel pressure,, it does so many different things for so many different vehicles. And also I had a small problem with the anyscan app probably my phone but I needed to email support and they were extremely fast at getting back to me with the things I needed and even went as far as to email a few days later to ask and make sure everything was working properly, it was, and I got the new version of the app also its anyscan+ the layout of the new version is alot cleaner and easier to navigate, if your familiar with any pro scanners like snapon solus or an autell it will be familiar to you. Just to add i experienced the anyscan+ as being faster also,, and if you look at DTC it now show a description with the code instead of have to click on it and wait to load from online..so I highly recommend this product to anyone who needs so diag and does some work on there own like brakes now requires some sort of computer to operate the EPB on newer vehicles and without this tool you may have to go to a repair shop just to have them reset that brake code,, so if your looking for a great little diag tool to keep in a work bag or glove box that can do alot id recommend this and if for some reason you need help the service support is hands down top notch in my opinion they have actually been alot of help and I didn't have to wait days for an email it was literally hours and thats awesome!!

We needed a scan tool to do some work on my personal vehicle. I have a 2015 Cadillac Escalade ESV that needed new front shocks. The shocks are magnaride / active shocks, which I found out after purchasing them that we needed to perform a "trim height relearn" after installing them on my car. After searching for scan tools, it was looking like I would I was going to need to spend quite a bit on a tool that would do this... And the local shops / mechanics wanted to charge way too much to do this relearn for us!!!! Insane! After searching some more, I found this product and I am so thankful that I did!!!! Words cannot describe how thankful I am!!! I emailed XTOOL prior to purchasing to make sure that this product would actually do what I needed it to, and they emailed me back RIGHT AWAY and said that it would work for my vehicle! I was very impressed with how quickly they got back to me! I also wanted to add that my husband is a diesel mechanic, and he uses a very expensive and fancy vehicle scanning computer tool at the shop he works at. We also do side work on vehicles out of our home shop outside of our full time jobs for friends and family. We purchased this scan tool for my personal vehicle, but we knew that we would be able to use it in our little home shop customers vehicles as well. My husband was VERY IMPRESSED with everything that this little tool could do, and that says a lot! He said that it can do most everything that the very expensive one at work can do. He was so happy about my purchase and we are excited to use it more! We've been trying to find every excuse to use it! It is VERY user friendly. I have personally never used a vehicle scanner tool before. I was able to set it up myself and scan my car. It was easy to read and figure out what was going on. I also did the trim height relearn myself with this product (very easy to do and took the tool literally 2 seconds to perform). A plus is you can even put in your shop / business information, and it will save the scanned info for each vehicle as a pdf file, and then you are able to print that out for customers.

I've been using scan tools for over 15 years, but until now, I could only justify using a standard OBD2 reader that provided ECU codes. While those are useful for troubleshooting, modern vehicles have many different modules that can't be scanned by a standard OBD2 reader. Not only can the XTool A30M scan those modules, it can also interact with them through it's bi-directional capability, allowing you to run tests and even actuate controls manually. So far, I have scanned these cars: 2007 Chevy Malibu 2008 Lexus RX350 2009 Nissan Versa 2013 Ford Focus 2016 Kia Cadenza 2020 Toyota Tundra I've included several screenshots that demonstrate some of the codes I've encountered. I downloaded the Anyscan app from the Google Play Store onto an inexpensive ONN Android tablet from Wal-Mart. It functions at what I would consider a normal speed when connecting to the vehicle computer. While some reviewers have complained about connection speed, I suspect that is related to the age of the phone or tablet they were using to run the app. The only issue I had was not being able to connect to the car immediately after installing the app. This was solved by rebooting the tablet and I have had no more problems since. Bluetooth range from the device to my tablet is around twenty feet, but is likely going to depend on your equipment's capabilities. In most cases, I'm sitting in the car or standing next to it, so range is not an issue for me. XTool customer service has been excellent, both before and after my purchase. They usually respond to emails within 24 hours and are courteous and helpful. This is a company based in China, and they have better customer service than many American companies. One of the main selling points for me was the free updates. The other two tools that I was considering provide one free year of updates and then you have to pay $60 to $100 per year after that if you want to keep your software current. That's not a big deal for a professional mechanic, but for someone who just wants to work on their own car, it seems like a lot. Also, there are some scan tools that only allow you to download updates for one or two vehicles, but XTool allows you to download all of the makes that you want to. I went ahead and downloaded all of the common makes in the US and it used about 10 gigs of storage on my tablet. About half of that space was from the files for VW, BMW, and Mercedes. I've had this tool for several months and there have been many updates available during that time for the makes I have installed. Overall, the A30M and the Anyscan app are easy to use. The tool itself feels well-built and solid. The voltage display does not reflect actual battery voltage, but that's not a problem for me as I will have already checked it with a multimeter. This is an impressive tool and I have recommended it to several friends.

Scanner has a lot of great features. The live data allowed me to find the problem that the learned position for the brake pedal position sensor was the problem after replacing the old sensor. The break pedal position learning function was not available for the 2015 GMC Acadia. The App software is clunky and the menus are a bit confusing. The auto scan feature works quickly and it displays a lot of data once you learn how to navigate the menus. It was able to identify the problems with complete accuracy. Unfortunately had to take it to a mechanic with a better scanner because the break learn procedure was not available for the GMC although it seemed to be available for other vehicles. It can do a lot of things the far more expensive scanners can do at a lower price, just not everything. Very Happy with the scanner overall, great buy if you are having issues you can’t identify with a cheap obdII scanner.

I’ve been using the XTOOL A30M V2.0 OBD2 Scanner and have been impressed with how easy it is to use. Setup was straightforward, and the scanner quickly connected to my vehicle and provided useful diagnostic information. The app is user-friendly, and having the ability to read and clear trouble codes makes it convenient for basic troubleshooting. It’s a handy tool to have around, especially if you want to understand what a check-engine light may be related to before taking your vehicle to a shop. Overall, it’s a useful diagnostic scanner for the price and a good addition to a DIYer’s toolbox.

Very quick and helpful customer support. As my habit immediately after unpacking I through package to trash. Later when try to use device it was asking for activation code. In same time I ask xtools amazon support, contact emails from xtools website and provided model + serial number of device. In a few hour they all replied with activation code. And even after a month they checking if I have any issue or need help in use of device. Device it self is the best.
