We have our own vr kit do we need these goggles

When you say vr "KIT" do you mean a vR goggle viewer? If you already have a viewer that can support putting a smartphone into, then yes you can use that - but note that the back of the viewer must be exposed so that the phone camera can aim at the book to trigger experiences - if the camera is blocked by the viewer, it wont work.

Can it be played on a Smartboard in classroom? I would love to give my whole class this experience.

I don’t believe that would work, it’s designed to really give the wearer of the goggles a 360 degree VR experience.

Would a 12 year old be bored with this kit?

Depending on the 12 year olds interest in science. My husband and I bought a second kit to do the experiments along side our 9 year old. It’s very well put together! I think they would like and not get bored!

Will the app work with apple ipod?

Unfortunately, no. Our apps are downloadable in the Apple App Store and Google Play store for iPhones and Android phones.
