Tempur-Pedic All-Purpose Memory Foam Travel Pillow, Peanut-Shaped Lumbar Pillow for Neck and Back Pressure Relief, Navy

Even though this is made by Tempur-Pedic, I wasn’t expecting this pillow to be THIS good! It has the classic “Tempur-Pedic” feel, which I would rate it as a medium firm, and the zip off navy blue cover has a soft, velvety feel, so it looks more high end than typical orthopedic pillows. I think this would be helpful to use between the knees, or as a lumbar support, but I’m using this as a cervical support, so my review is focused on this purpose. For reference, I have cervical disc degeneration (spondylitis and stenosis, with herniated discs and bone spurs pressing on peripheral nerves), and have suffered from chronic Trigeminal Neuralgia (often referred to as the “suicide headache” because of its intensity), migraines, and radiculopathy pain/tingling/numbness in hands and arms, as a result of my cervical issues. I’m disabled and in constant pain, and cannot hold my head upright for more than 20-30 minutes without the nerve pain becoming much more intense. I have to wear a neck brace if I’m driving, prepping meals or folding laundry, etc. So, using right pillow has been critical for my health and well-being. My old memory foam neck pillow (not sure of the brand) had finally lost its ability to hold shape after 15 or so years. I have a Tempur-Pedic adjustable bed, and absolutely love how it feels, so that’s was willing to give this one a try. And even though other memory foam pillows were less expensive, from my experience, memory foam isn’t a one-size-fits all product— it can be softer, or firmer, depending on the type or the manufacturer, and some kinds of foam have terrible off-gassing odors, or tend to flatten after a short time. This is the 11th or 12th memory foam pillow I’ve purchased in the last 20 years to help with my neck, so I figured this time, I’d rather spend a little more on a Tempur-Pedic brand product, and “buy it once, buy it right.” This is definitely the “goooooood” kind of memory foam! It’s incredibly supportive, but still soft to the touch. And for those who say it’s too firm or too hard— I suggest that when you receive a memory foam product in the mail, you should always allow several hours for the item to acclimate to the temperature of the room (or in this case, perhaps you could try sitting on it for 20-30 minutes) before deciding that the product is too firm. And give the pillow a chance to adjust to the warmth of your body, as well. Temperature makes a huge difference! Since I ordered this in the winter, after initially opening the package, the pillow did feel quite firm (almost as firm as a tennis ball), but within an hour or so, it felt perfect! I was able to sleep all night long with just this pillow providing cervical support (for reference, I am a 5’8” average sized woman), without even using my regular contoured (not Tempur-Pedic) memory foam pillow. It was heaven! I’ve never been able to sleep at night just using a cervical pillow, so I’m blown away! The peanut shape allows for so much flexibility of use— I can nest my neck in the “dip” of the center, or can shift it so that the larger end of the pillow presses against the base of my skull, which feels incredible! It’s comfortable in both a supine and side lying positions, and since I’ll be using it while sleeping on my side, I decided to tuck it into a pillowcase during nighttime use, just so I won’t need to worry about removing zip off cover to wash it quite as often. While reclining and reading in bed, I can pair it with my regular memory foam pillow, so it’s nice to have something that provides this much support and flexibility of use. Since receiving it, I have been using it while relaxing on the couch, while in bed, everywhere I can! I wish I just could walk around with it all day long- it feels THAT good! I’ll update my review if anything changes, or if the pillow doesn’t seem to hold up over time. I paid full price for this product, and have not received any compensation or other consideration for this review. The first night I tried this pillow, it was ok but seemed a bit hard. So, I took the cover off and it was just enough softer and it was PERFECT.

I use this anytime I fly, and also for long car trips when I'm driving. (When I'm not driving, I can move around to get comfortable.) I have low back pain and this solves my problem. It's really good quality and worth the money.

Soft and perfect little pillow. I use it under my neck or as a lumbar support when sitting or reclining, it's a lovely foam that melts into very comfortable support without flattening or pushing back too hard. I did take it out of the case because it's too hard and compressed in there, also not a fabric I want to sleep on, will probably find a tiny pillowcase to fit it. Edit - Really do love this little pillow but the case is terrible - see above - and without it the thing snags and catches dirt, and really hard to find a little pillow case to fit it.

I have been using this in my car and home for lower back pain. I tried a number of cheaper back supports first and didn't like any of them, either for the size, shape or firmness. Foam, air, whatever, they all were either uncomfortable, cumbersome, or pushed me too far forward in my seat or chair. I finally bit the bullet for the Temlur-Pedic and it's worth every penny. It's an easy size to carry around or travel with, the shape and size hit me exactly where I need it and just the right amount, and it doesn't push your whole body forward to the edge of your seat. It just melts into your back with the perfect firmness and you feel nice and stable too. I forget it's there, even if I'm driving for hours. It's helped my lower back pain so much. Wish I had gotten it sooner.

I purchased this pillow based on previous customers’ reviews even though I thought the pillow was pretty pricey. Unfortunately, the pillow is not what I expected. There are some good features such as size, shape, removable washable cover, but it is way too firm and doesn’t easily bend, shape or conform to the position I need. I should have known it would be ultra-firm, after all, it’s a foam pillow. It is way too stiff to be comfortable or useful. Maybe with time and some use, it will soften and be more conforming, but I seriously doubt it.

This pillow was a great added addition for my long flight to Vegas. It is a little too soft for my lumbar spine, but was great for a neck pillow. My son even took it for a few hours. It is soft and durable. I will definitely be bringing it with me on future flights. This pillow is a perfect size for those aching body parts!

I didn't know I needed this as bad as I did. It is the BEST! A friend had one and I thought that I didn't want to carry around a neck AND this lumbar pillow but I swapped out a skinny backpack for a larger one I own and used both and this lumbar pillow is soooooooo amazing. Everyone needs one!

Got this Tempur neck pillow as the Obus one is way too big to pack for travel and it is not firm as it used to be. Plus it has a flat bottom.... I got this as it seemed smaller and would fit better under my neck. Bingo! Its foam is incredibly soft yet firm enough to support my neck well. It is round so it fits snugly on my shoulder as I am a side sleeper. It is small enough that I can still wear headphones if I want to. It is dark so it conceals any oil from the skin. It has a comfortable plushy feel and its middle contours allow for a slight gap to avoid any overheating during hot flushes. It comes with a nifty carrying case which is great to pack when traveling and keep clean. I have always had good experiences with every Tempur product I have purchased. This is neck pillow is no different. Will update after some good wear and tear use. So far AAA++++
