The ONLY place I can find a key fob built into the key for my vehicle, a 2004 Ford F150 5.4L FX4, is here on Amazon. However, the local hardware stores, big box stores and locksmiths refuse to cut keys purchased on Amazon. It doesn’t matter if you absolve them from all liability and offer to pay handsomely for their cutting services – they just refuse to work with you! I resolved not to give up on getting these keys cut after speaking to a particularly rude & dismissive locksmith! Cutting keys is actually quite easy if you have access to a key cutting machine. I learned to use one at the age of 17 when I worked in the maintenance department of a hotel – it’s not rocket science by any means! So, I purchased this Anrain Duplicating Machine, which is similar to many cheaper cutting machines on Amazon (but looked to have a nicer lightbulb setup). Then I waited for it to arrive. I wasted no time in cutting these fob keys that had worked on my previous truck of the same make & model. The cutter worked flawlessly, and the keys fit just fine. However, much to my dismay, I couldn’t successfully program the keys to work with Ford’s SecuriLock system – the engine wouldn’t start. The process to program the security chip isn’t difficult and is readily available in the owner’s manual or online. Plus, I had successfully done it before. I don’t know why the fob keys I used before didn’t work this time, but I sent them back for a refund. Having already incurred the sunk cost of the key cutting machine, I decided to try a different set of fob keys; these fob keys in fact. I’m sure glad I did! These keys are superior to the previous keys I tried. Most importantly, they were easy to program and were completely compatible with Ford’s SecuriLock system. However, they are also longer than the original Ford key (and previous fob keys), so they don’t rub on the ignition despite being bulkier. I also prefer the tactile feel of the rubberized buttons on these fob keys. So, for about the cost of one key and (separate) fob from the dealer, I now own these two combination fob keys and a key cutting machine! Sweet, sweet success!

These keyfobs worked great both for my 2010 Ford edge and 2012 Ford escape. Programming of the chip in the key can be done with an extended license of Forscan and an adapter to hook up your car. Programming the buttons after the chip is done by turning the key on and off eight times and then pressing a button on the key fob, I especially like the design of this key fob the battery slides into its compartment and is not dependent on the key case being closed to hold the battery in place.

Ok just to start, I own a 2010 Ford F150, STX, Super crew cab, 4wd, 4.6L Triton. The packaging for these keys was just fine and delivered on time. Right off the rip these keys are completely different from the OEM keys that came with my truck (I knew this already when I bought them, Just painting a picture for those who don't have a lot of automotive knowledge). However they are a very nice upgrade to my OEM set. I use to have a separate F.O.B. and key and now they are built into one. The plastic of the key is very close to OEM quality along with the rubber pad for the buttons on the key, Just a touch of off to a point that some people may not even notice the difference. The F.O.B. buttons aren't junkie, They have a nice firm but not tough press for each button. You can tell right away the key is a strong and good fit replacement as soon as you hold it. It was very easy to program the F.O.B. and the key transponder chip (No they are not the same thing) it took me less then 3 minutes to do both keys (Just watch YouTube). I took these keys to my local Drug mart store to have them cut and they didn't even charge me for it because it took them less then 30 seconds to cut both keys and debur them. I literally have no complaints. So instead of going to the dealership that would have probably charged me $350.00 per key or so depending. I paid less then $40.00 to buy both keys with shipping and tax. Had them both cut for free. Then programed them myself. These keys Lock and unlock all doors and starts the truck no problem. The F.O.B. on the new keys works great and has a little more range then my OEM F.O.B. and now my truck has 4 Admin keys programed which will work with my aftermarket remote start as well (3xL or L,U,L style remote start). Great set of keys if you need them or even want them. All you have to do is make sure they are compatible with your vehicle which they list for you in the description.

I have a for 2014 flex. Was able to cut and program them and that part works and the car starts. But the keyless entry part is very glitchy and some times doesn't work, And if the key isn't used for a while it will lose the programming for keyless entry. The part where you press the button is all one piece so it's easy to hit wrong buttons. In 10 years I probably set off the panic button less then 5 times. With this I've set it off 5 times this week.

So, it’s a great, convenient, and economical option for extra/replacement keys….BUT YOU HAVE TO HAVE TWO FULLY FUNCTIONAL KEYS ALREADY. My original two keys for my 2011 f150 are working, but not well. Changed batteries, but they still only work some of the time to un/lock the doors. I guess age and use is catching up to them. I bought these two to become primary use keys. The FOB was easy to program, online instructions, open drivers door, hit unlock, use original key to turn ignition on and off 8 times, put in new key, on then off, and hit any button, and the FOB was programmed, but it wouldn’t start the truck. So, I asked the google machine, and I was led to further instructions that needed two working keys, so put working key 1 into ignition, turn on then off, switch to working key 2, on and off, then new key, on and off and It worked. I repeated that process a second time, and my last key was programmed. If you just want an economic way to have extra keys, these seem to be a great option. I was able to have the keys cut at a local Batteries Plus for about 20 bucks, so I have about 46? 47? Dollars total into two working keys. If you have to have your vehicle factory logo, well, you are going to have to spend a lot more. I also bought two keys for my daughters 16 Cruze, save a load of money that way. Super pleased. The keys aren’t exact matches to factory, but are darn close, they fit properly, the remote functions as expected, only question is, how long will they last? So durability is TBD.

Key just as described. Read a review on Amazon post and took a chance and the key fob work perfectly. Easy to program and have cut. Would recommend.

Took the keys to my local locksmith and had them cut and the ignition programmed. They work great for that, but the buttons will absolutely not work despite being programmed via the traditional method. It's a possibility with a professional computer module, they might be able to be programmed, but I can't see them working for the keyless entry. They look nice, and we're a reasonable price. Works for ignition only for 2009 explorer Eddie Bauer edition.
